Bay of Kotor, fully known as the Bay of Boka Kotorska, is located on the Adriatic coast in southeastern Montenegro and is an iconic fjord-like bay. Bay of Kotor attracts many tourists with its magnificent natural scenery and rich history and culture, making it an important tourist area in Montenegro. The bay area is surrounded by rugged cliffs and quaint, charming towns, the most famous of which is the historic city of Kotor. Kotor Old Town Viewhas been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. The entire old town is surrounded by walls approximately 4.5 km long. The stone walls rise from the seaside, zigzagging up the steep mountain to reach the Castle of San Giovanni at an altitude of about 280 m, forming a complete defensive system. The walls were first built in the 9th century and have been continuously expanded over the following ten centuries, with some sections reaching up to 20 m in height. The old town is accessed through three gates, including the Sea Gate. Upon entering, the first thing that catches the eye is the Place d'Armes, where a clock tower built in 1602 stands, slightly tilted due to multiple earthquakes. Walking deeper along the cobblestone alleys, you will pass the Flour Square, the Karampana Fountain, and several palaces of noble families. The Cathedral of Saint Tryphon is the core landmark of the old town, with its solemn and striking Romanesque twin-bell tower facade. The Maritime Museum next to the cathedral tells the history of navigation in the bay from the 9th century to World War II. About halfway up the climb along the walls, there is also the Church of Our Lady of Remedy, which serves as a viewpoint for a mid-climb rest. From the top of the Castle of San Giovanni, you can overlook the red roofs of the entire old town and the panoramic view of the Bay of Kotor.Kotor · 14.5 km from Rt Veslo

Blue Cave is located at Rt Veslo on the Luštica Peninsula in the Herceg Novi municipality of Montenegro. It is a sea cave accessible only by sea and one of the more distinctive natural landmarks along this stretch of the Adriatic coast. The cave is spacious with calm water. Sunlight enters through an underwater opening below the entrance, and after being refracted by the clear water, it is reflected by the white limestone walls and the bottom of the cave. The entire cave chamber seems to be enveloped in a deep blue light, and the water surface glows with a dazzling blue. Around noon, when the sun shines directly, the intensity and transparency of the blue are most prominent, making this the ideal time to visit by boat.Rt Veslo · 1.5 km from downtown

Perast, Montenegro is an old town on the shores of the Bay of Kotor, situated on a headland separating the Bay of Risan and the Bay of Kotor. It is located northwest of the old town of Kotor, backed by St. Elijah Hill, and faces the narrow Verige Strait within the bay. The town has a permanent population of only a few hundred people, and it takes only about twenty minutes to walk from one end to the other, yet it perfectly preserves a collection of Baroque palaces left behind by seafaring families from the Venetian era. Nearly twenty churches still remain today, their waterfront facades lined up in a row, forming an iconic stretch of the Bay of Kotor's skyline.Perast · 14.9 km from Rt Veslo

Budva Old Town has a continuous history of habitation spanning over 2,500 years, making it one of the oldest settlements along the Adriatic coast. From early Illyrian settlements and ancient Greek trading posts to the successive rule of Rome, Byzantium, and the Republic of Venice, the remnants of different civilizations are layered throughout the old town. The entire old town is surrounded by defensive stone walls, with beaches just outside, allowing sea breezes to drift into the stone alleys. The old town is compact, with narrow, cobblestone streets winding through it. Small squares occasionally open up from the alleys, with cafes and restaurants lined up under the arcades. The square enclosed by three churches is the heart of the old town: the bell tower of the Church of St. John is one of the tallest structures in the old town and can be seen from afar; the adjacent Church of St. Mary, built in the 9th century, is one of the oldest surviving churches on the eastern Adriatic coast; the Church of the Holy Trinity is distinguished by its pink and gray striped stone exterior walls. Walking to the citadel at the southern tip of the peninsula, you can climb the wall walkway to overlook St. Nicholas Island and the bays on both sides.Budva · 21.1 km from Rt Veslo

Sveti stefan

7.1
Sveti stefan is located on the Adriatic coast of Montenegro and is a small fortified island connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway. In the 15th century, the local Paštrovići tribe built a defensive settlement consisting of 12 stone houses on the island using captured spoils to resist Ottoman attacks, which subsequently developed into a fishing village with a population of approx. 400. In the mid-20th century, the island's residents gradually moved out, and the entire village was transformed into a resort, attracting celebrities such as Elizabeth Taylor and Sophia Loren. The entire island retains its traditional Mediterranean architectural style, with red-tiled stone houses layered along the hillside and winding stone alleys. There are 3 churches on the island, among which the Church of St. Stephen, built in the 12th century, is particularly striking and sits on the high point of the island. The beaches on both sides of the causeway between the island and the mainland have a unique pink hue due to the presence of coral fragments. Villa Miločer on the mainland side was built in 1936 as the summer residence of Queen Marija of Yugoslavia and is surrounded by extensive olive groves.Sveti Stefan · 26.9 km from Rt Veslo

Porto Montenegro is located on the shores of Tivat Bay in Montenegro and is one of the most iconic high-end coastal complexes on the eastern Adriatic coast. Originally a naval shipyard and repair base during the Yugoslav era, it has been transformed through urban renewal and tourism development into a modern waterfront area that integrates a superyacht marina, residential communities, commercial districts, and leisure spaces. Today, the port not only hosts large yachts from around the world but has also evolved into a vibrant seaside community. Streets stretch along the marina, lined with hotels, restaurants, cafes, boutiques, and cultural exhibition spaces, creating an atmosphere that is both sophisticated and openly accessible. Strolling through, you can see the azure bay set against the backdrop of mountains, where yachts and walkways intersect to create a unique coastal view. By day, it is perfect for a leisurely stroll, boat watching, and enjoying waterfront dining, while at night, the area comes alive with a more vibrant social atmosphere fueled by lights and music.Tivat · 10 km from Rt Veslo

The Blue Grotto of Montenegro, the "mysterious blue eyes" hidden in the Adriatic Sea, is super romantic just by the name. The refraction of the sea water makes the cave appear dreamy blue, like a magical crystal world. 💎 When you enter by boat, it feels like you have entered a secret place. The sunlight penetrates the sea water and the light and shadow flow is super shocking. It is not an exaggeration to say that it is a "natural mysterious world worth exploring"! Diving into it, you will be surrounded by deep and charming blue, and you can truly experience the unfathomable depth of the sea. But don't panic, this wonderful blue feast will make you can't help but sigh at the uncanny workmanship of nature. It is a must for diving enthusiasts, and ordinary tourists can also take a boat to experience this dream, a complete visual crit. 🌊

Budva's Old Town is surrounded by city walls, its cobblestone streets worn smooth by time. The church bell tower is the tallest building; climbing it offers a view of red rooftops merging seamlessly with the sea. The harbor lies right at the city gate, where fishing boats and yachts mingle. Small shops sell local handicrafts, and the aroma of grilled fish wafts through the alleyways. In the evening, sitting at the foot of the city walls to watch the sunset, the sea turns orange-red; after the tourists leave, it becomes very quiet.

The ancient city of Kotor is located in the Kotor Bay of the Adriatic Sea. It has the most complete ancient city walls in Europe. The ancient buildings are full of a heavy sense of history! Climb up the city wall and overlook the blue sea. The view is superb. There are also shuttle boats and scattered houses.
