Park of the Nations
Park of the Nations is located along the banks of theTagus Riverand was transformed from the site of the 1998 World Expo. This World Expo was themed "The Oceans, a Heritage for the Future" and was held to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the explorer Vasco da Gama's arrival in India. The Vasco da Gama Tower BABYLON 360º within the park and theVasco da Gama Bridgenearby are both named after him. After the World Expo closed, this former industrial shoreline was not left idle but was transformed into a new waterfront district integrating office, cultural, residential, and commercial spaces, often regarded as a successful example of post-Expo site utilization. Strolling along the waterfront promenade that stretches along the river, you can still see many Expo buildings that have been preserved to this day: the Lisbon Oceanarium and the interactive science center, which evolved from the original pavilions, are both located here; the sail-shaped Vasco da Gama Tower BABYLON 360º, the large-span concrete canopy of the Portugal Pavilion, and the white vaulted gallery of the Gare Do Oriente make this an area concentrated with modern architecture in Lisbon, forming a sharp contrast with the narrow stone alleys of the old town. Rossio Square
Rossio Square is located at the end of Rua Augusta. Since the Middle Ages, it has been one of the city's main public squares, historically serving as a stage for popular uprisings, celebrations, bullfights, and even executions. Today, it has evolved into a gathering place that both Lisboners and tourists love to visit. The square's official name is actually "Praça de D. Pedro IV," but locals have never accepted this name, which was only adopted in the 19th century, and continue to use the old name "Rossio," which means "public square" in old Portuguese. The square is not large, but its attractions are quite concentrated. The ground is paved with black and white cobblestones in a continuous wave pattern, a classic design of Portuguese pavement, which looks like a rolling sea from a distance. At the center, the commemorative column is topped by a statue of Pedro IV, who is dressed in a general's uniform, wearing a laurel wreath, and holding the charter he promulgated. The four corners of the column base are decorated with four female statues symbolizing justice, wisdom, fortitude, and temperance, which are considered annotations of his virtues. The two bronze fountains next to the column were shipped from France. The National Theater on the north side and the Neo-Manueline facade of the train station to the northwest are also worth looking up to admire. Most of the buildings surrounding the square date back to the reconstruction after the 1755 earthquake, continuing the uniform facades of the Pombaline downtown district. 25th of April Bridge
On April 25, the bridge spanned both sides of the Tejo River, connecting Lisbon and the city of Almada on the opposite bank, and it is one of the landmarks of Lisbon. Vasco da Gama Bridge 🆚 Sports Park
(Vasco da Gama Bridge)
One of the longest bridges in Europe, 17.2 kilometers long.
The bridge is located in the parish of Moscavide, about 10 kilometers northeast of Lisbon, part of the city of Loures, close to the Tagus River.
On both sides of the bridge is a quiet modern community with a slow-paced atmosphere. It is also popular among locals because of its proximity to Lisbon Airport and the modern National Park (Parque das Nações); especially the sports park under the bridge, which is close to the water and has a large green space. In the evening, sports enthusiasts run on the overhead walkway from time to time, and there are sports figures everywhere on the tennis courts, padle courts and football fields.

Rossio Square is a free attraction that retains the white walls and red tiles as the most basic colors and architectural style of Portugal. The transportation here is very convenient, and the fountains on both sides are also very distinctive.

La Praça do Comércio, también conocida como Terreiro do Paço, es una de las plazas más emblemáticas de Lisboa. Durante más de dos siglos, este majestuoso espacio junto al río Tajo fue el lugar donde se ubicaba el Palacio Real de Lisboa. Hoy, su espléndida arquitectura y vistas al estuario del Tajo la han convertido en el epicentro de la ciudad.A comienzos del siglo XVI, el rey D. Manuel I trasladó su residencia desde el Castillo de San Jorge a esta ubicación privilegiada junto al río Tajo. Trágicamente, el palacio y su inmensa biblioteca, que albergaba más de 70.000 volúmenes, quedaron arrasados por el Terremoto de Lisboa.En la reconstrucción de la ciudad tras el terremoto, la Praça do Comércio fue un elemento fundamental en los planes del Marqués de Pombal. Los nuevos edificios, diseñados con arcadas, mantienen un marco arquitectónico impresionante a la plaza. Hoy en día, estos edificios albergan diversos ministerios.Los edificios de la Praça do Comércio exhiben un distintivo color rosa, que fue agregado después de la Revolución de 1910, en contraposición al amarillo real original. El lado sur de la plaza, con sus dos torres cuadradas, se abre al río Tajo. Esta área ha sido históricamente la entrada principal a Lisboa, utilizada por embajadores y realeza que llegaban por mar.
