Mount Mangdang Tourist Area is situated on the eastern Henan plain, renowned as the "Birthplace of the Han Dynasty." Centered around Han culture, this attraction holds historical significance as Emperor Gaozu of Han, Liu Bang, launched his uprising by slaying a serpent here. It serves as the burial site for eight generations of nine kings from the Western Han Liang Kingdom, forming an expansive royal mausoleum complex. The area has yielded priceless artifacts like jade burial suits sewn with gold thread and the Cloud-Patterned Painting of Four Deities. Some of the most famous mausoleums found in this group of Han Dynasty tombs—large and small—include Emperor Yuan of Han, the grandson of Emperor Gaozu of Han, and his empress. The tomb of Emperor Yuan is located on the south side of Yongcheng's Mangdang Mountain. Emperor Yuan was also known as Liang Xiao and Liu Wu. He was the second son of Emperor Wen of Han. He was recorded in history as Liang Xiao after his death. The tomb is shaped like a mountain and is hidden under stones. The door of the tomb faces to the east. The tomb of Liang Xiao's empress includes many grave goods, which were items very much like those that would have been used in her daily life. Between Liang Xiao's tomb and the tomb of the empress, there is a underground passage called the "Huangquan (Yellow Spring) Path." This is the road the souls of Liang Xiao and his empress would have traveled following their deaths. It is said that when later generations referred to "the fate of Huangquan" or the "Huangquan Path" that this is the origin of the phrase.Yongcheng · 27.1 km from downtown

Yubotai, also known as Mars Terrace and Vulcan Terrace, is located 1.5 kilometers southwest of the ancient city of Shangqiu. The existing Yubotai is like a tomb, 35 meters high and 270 meters in circumference, built of rammed earth. The layers of rammed earth are mixed with many tiles and pottery pieces from the Han Dynasty, which may have been built in the Han Dynasty. The original Yibotai was hidden under the existing platform due to the sedimentation of the Yellow River for many times. Yibotai is the earliest existing star-gazing platform in my country, with a history of more than 4,000 years. The mound under the platform of Yibo is Shangqiu, which was first sealed by Yibo. This is where the name of Shangqiu came from. Yibotai is even more tall and abrupt on the endless plain. This platform is the high point of the ancient capital of Shangqiu. In addition, the ancients believed that the spirit of Yibotai corresponds to the star of Shangqiu. Therefore, since ancient times, people have regarded Yibotai as a symbol of Shangqiu. The scenic spot has major scenic spots such as Suiren's Mausoleum, Yubotai, Kaiyuan Temple, Huaxi Tower, Botanical Garden, Jade Palace, Fengdu City, Shangzu Hall, Yuelao Palace and so on. According to historical records and folklore, in ancient times, Qi, the son of Emperor Ku, was here as Huozheng. One was to manage the seeds of fire so that people could get fire at any time (so later generations also called him the God of Fire). The second is to sacrifice to Mars and observe the movement of Mars, so as to timely inform people of disaster prevention and avoid disasters and timely sow and harvest. Over time, Huo Zhengqi, who observes the relationship and position between Mars and Tai Sui, is called "Yu Bo". After Qi's death, people buried him on the high ground where he observed Mars during his lifetime. Every year from the first day of the first month of the lunar calendar to the second day of the second day of the second month of the lunar calendar, the ancient dynasty material exchange conference attracts millions of people from Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hebei and other provinces to come to the court; the "May 1st" Golden Week holds the Fire Festival of Emperor Suihuang in Shangqiu, China; The "November" Golden Week holds the "Shang Culture" Festival. Mars Station is the birthplace of commerce, and Yibo is the ancestor of merchants.Shangqiu · 8.4 km from downtown

The city wall is quite long; I didn't walk from the south gate to the east gate, I only went to the western end. Zhang Xun Temple and Yingtian Academy aren't very interesting to visit, but they carry a significant amount of historical and cultural significance.

The Fuzishan Scenic Area that I had been thinking about finally met on May Day in 2025. I also walked the glass plank road. With a good attitude, everything felt worth it. The most recommended thing is that there is a large courtyard on the right side of 500 meters from the scenic spot. There is a sign at the door saying "Mangshan Town Free Parking". It just so happened that the navigation showed that the parking lot was tight, so I simply parked here and walked over. This free parking is not a gimmick, it is real. When I left, I was ready to pay but no one charged me. I like Mangshan Town. A few suggestions: The sound effect of "Chen Cai's Foodless" is too poor. I didn't hear a word clearly from the beginning to the end of the performance, which affected the viewing experience. It's just a personal suggestion and cannot represent everyone.

Mangdang Mountain is located in Yongcheng, Henan Province. It is a national AAAAA-level scenic spot that combines natural wonders with historical heritage. As the "Han Culture Corridor", the scenic area has a rare group of Western Han Dynasty tombs in the world. The tombs of Liang Xiaowang and the Queen's Tomb were carved into the mountain and have exquisite structures. The "appearance" wonder of Liu Bang's Snake-Slaying Stele at night has been passed down for thousands of years; Confucius Mountain retains the remains of Confucius's teachings in the rain, and the Mangshan Temple is surrounded by smoke and fire, where Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism are integrated. In the unique limestone landform, geological relics such as ripples and fossils are like natural textbooks, adding a sense of humanistic depth to the mountains and rivers.

It's a great historical site and the setting for many stories; you can learn a lot from it. Plus, there are plenty of convenient restrooms within the scenic area. During the Spring Festival, there was also a large market, making for a wonderful visit.

Yingtian Academy, also known as Yingtianfu Academy, Suiyang Academy, Nanjing Academy, and Nandu Academy, was later upgraded to Nanjing Imperial Academy and became the highest institution of learning in the Northern Song Dynasty. It is also the only academy in ancient China that was upgraded to Imperial Academy. Most academies in the Northern Song Dynasty were located in mountainous areas, but Yingtian Academy was located in a bustling city, which became the main feature of Yingtian Academy. Yingtian Academy is known as one of the four ancient academies in China, along with Bailudong Academy in Lushan, Jiangxi, Yuelu Academy in Changsha, Hunan, and Songyang Academy in Dengfeng, Henan. It occupies an important position in the history of education, culture, and thought in China.

Mount Mangdang, which is only a little over 100 meters high, is regarded as the "place where the Han Dynasty rose" because of Emperor Gaozu's "uprising by slaying the snake". As the saying goes, "A mountain is not famous because of its height, but because of the immortals who live there; a river is not sacred because of its depth, but because of the dragons that live there!" The nearly 40-meter-high statue of Liu Bang stands majestically, with his clothes fluttering in the wind, showing the grandeur of the Han Dynasty!

It is reported that the architectural design of the museum is derived from the ancient city of Guide in Shangqiu. It perfectly displays the typical characteristics of the ancient city's layout of "high outside and low inside" and the structure of "city on city", and embodies the concept of a "miniature city" that collects, displays and exhibits Chinese Shang culture.

Mulan Temple is located in Dazhouzhuang Village, Yingkuo Town, 35 kilometers south of Yucheng County, Shangqiu City, Henan Province. It was built in the Tang Dynasty 1,300 years ago. I lie on my head on the battlefield at night, with swords and spears as my pillow, and I dream of the yellow flowers several times. I wake up to find the jade hairpin, but the long blade is frozen with frost.
