Solvang is a small town in Santa Barbara County, California, USA. It was founded by a group of Danish immigrants in 1911. Since it attracted the attention of the American media in 1947, it has developed into a theme town. There are many Danish bakeries, restaurants and shops in the town, and the exterior walls of many buildings reflect the traditional Danish style. There is also an Andersen Museum, which collects items related to the famous Danish fairy tale writer Andersen. This small private museum is located above a bookstore.
