Fiji Museum houses stone tools from over 3,000 years ago, a vast collection of traditional Fijian artifacts, and items left behind by European colonists in modern times. Items and war trophies from the British Royal Navy from when the United Kingdom invaded Fiji in the 19th century are also housed here, including rifles and leather-bound Bibles. It is said that the British conquered Fiji with the Bible and the rifle. In addition to these items from European colonists, you can also see Qing Dynasty robes and jackets here, with text on the jacket describing the history of Chinese people arriving in Fiji. Furthermore, there are many other interesting exhibits in the museum waiting for you to discover.Suva · 1.9 km from downtown

Cola-I-Suva Forest Park, established in 1872, is a famous local tropical forest. There are many tropical plants and birds here. The state of the entire park is very primitive. There are many hiking routes in the forest, with lush trees and waterfalls. The general hiking route takes about 2 hours.Viti Levu · 9.3 km from Suva

Independence Palace is the office of the head of state. The entrance looks very modest, with two unpretentious iron gates about 5m wide standing wide open. The office building dates back to the British colonial era. It is nestled between mountains and the sea, with the South Pacific Ocean right in front. A more famous sight here is the guard standing at the main entrance. He wears a Buckingham Palace guard uniform on his upper body, while on his lower body he wears a "solo," which locals love, and sandals on his feet. Provided you do not disturb the guard on duty, you can invite him to take a photo with you, and if you are lucky, you might even see the changing of the guard ceremony.Suva · 2 km from downtown

Thurston Gardens was originally built in 1820 and belonged to a local tribal chief who commanded nearly a thousand warriors and dominated the Suva area. It was later destroyed, then renovated in the fifth year of British colonial rule in Fiji and converted into the Suva Botanical Gardens. To commemorate Sir Thurston, who proposed it, the Suva Botanical Gardens was renamed Thurston Gardens in 1976. The gardens feature many precious tropical plants for you to explore. When you get tired of strolling, sit by the lake and admire the tropical Fiji water lilies. The clock tower in the gardens is also not to be missed.Suva · 2.1 km from downtown

Although the Fiji Museum is small and a bit run down, it has a rich collection of exhibits and a detailed introduction to Fijian culture. I really hope it can continue to operate and everyone should support it! We only had an hour to visit the various exhibits, but I highly recommend it, it is very educational. There is a full-sized outrigger canoe for ocean sailing, which was the highlight of our visit.

The further you go up the mountain in this forest park, the more beautiful the scenery becomes. The top of the mountain is shrouded in clouds and mist, and there are large tracts of tropical forests dotted with small flowers of various colors. The scenery is truly breathtaking.

The market is very small, right by the sea in the city center. It mainly sells wood carvings, small jewelry, tropical fabrics, etc. Each store is very creative, but the craftsmanship is rough and the prices are quite reasonable. There are government-approved tourist handicraft shops in Fiji. The things they sell are similar, but the craftsmanship is obviously much better and the prices are also expensive, but the prices are clearly marked and there are not many discounts, so you can buy with confidence.
