Akihabara refers to the commercial district around the "Electric Town Exit" of JR Akihabara Station in Tokyo. It developed from radio parts stalls that gathered near the station after the war, first becoming a street for home appliances, and with the rise of computer and anime culture, it evolved into its current state where electronics and anime culture coexist. As soon as you exit the station, giant anime advertisements and electronics signs line Chuo-dori, and there are game centers plastered with character illustrations in front of the station. Electronics enthusiasts can makeYodobashi Cameraon the east side of the station their first stop. This large, comprehensive electronics store has everything from cameras, computers, and game consoles to beauty appliances, watches, and toys, with a food floor on the upper levels. Those who enjoy hunting for treasures might want to duck into the alleys in front of the station, where electronic parts shops, second-hand camera stores, and Super Potato, which specializes in retro game cartridges and arcade machines, are hidden away. Anime fans have equally dense options: the entire Akihabara Radio Kaikan building in front of the station is filled with shops specializing in figures, models, and trading cards; merchandise stores like Animate and Gamers, along with the black-walled Mandarake second-hand store, are scattered throughout the district. Maid cafes feature servers in maid outfits greeting guests. The exclusive theater for idol groups is located on the eighth floor of the Don Quijote Akihabara store. Around holidays, Chuo-dori is usually designated as a pedestrian zone, allowing pedestrians to walk in the middle of the road and browse at their leisure, and you can often encounter young people in cosplay. The main street is lined mostly with large chain stores, while second-hand treasures are often hidden in the alleys.Tokyo · 12.7 km from Urayasu

Citywalk in Tokyo

Citywalk in Tokyo

5.8
Tokyo, a city where tradition and the future are intertwined, is not only a two-dimensional holy land in the hearts of anime fans, but also an urban jungle in the eyes of financial elites. Each route hides a unique code belonging to Tokyo. Climb up to the high-altitude observation deck with a wide view, and pass by iconic buildings and traditional neighborhoods. The glass curtain walls of the modern commercial district reflect the clear sky, and the wind chimes on the eaves of traditional temples tell the past of Edo. The collision of new and old scenes is like a time travel in the anime plot, with surprise eggs of encountering anime elements. Starting from the cultural venues that house historical relics, strolling between the Western-style buildings of the Meiji period and the modern skyscrapers, the brick and stone classical halls stand side by side with the glittering commercial buildings, witnessing the ups and downs of the economic wave. Just like the two sides of Tokyo: on one hand, it weaves a "secondary utopia" with anime symbols and traditional townhouses, and on the other hand, it constructs an "urban rational aesthetics" with financial landmarks and historical buildings. Tokyo's Citywalk allows you to experience the urban philosophy of "contradictory symbiosis" while walking.Japan · Tokyo

The Imperial Palace is located in Chiyoda District, Tokyo. It is the core area of the Japanese Emperor's residence and is full of mystery. It covers an area of about 17 hectares and is surrounded by moats, stone walls and about 300,000 ancient trees from all over Japan. The inner courtyard buildings are mostly in traditional Japanese style, with green tiles, white walls and brown copper columns, which are elegant and simple. Among them, the main hall "Matsu no Kaku" is the venue for the main activities of the royal family and diplomatic etiquette, and important ceremonies are solemnly held here. The Chowaden is about 200 meters wide and is where the emperor receives congratulations. Although it is a typical traditional Japanese style, it is built with modern materials. In addition, there are buildings such as the Flower Shadow Pavilion and the Waterfall Viewing Pavilion in the palace, which complement the exquisite garden landscape. On special occasions such as the New Year and the Emperor's birthday, the public can enter the inner courtyard through the Nijubashi Bridge to feel the solemn atmosphere of the royal family.Tokyo · 13.9 km from Urayasu

It's my 1st time paying for a view, and I never tried the other fee charging viewpoints that exist around Tokyo. My comparison would thus be with the several free points that also exist in Tokyo: I would say the Tokyo City view is worth it first because of its location: Roppongi. Convenient to access, and you are right in front of the Tokyo tower. The space also feels very high end, with ambiance music, spacious rooms. And it's open at night time, when most free viewpoints are closed. To maximise the experience, go when you are interested in the exhibit happening in the same venue.

Every year from early November to Christmas, Roppongi will have a lighting event. The trees along the street are all hung with light strips. The lights start to light up at 5 pm, creating a romantic and dreamy atmosphere.

As someone who regularly writes accommodation reviews, I've seen too many "miracle hotels" hyped up by marketing, but this one truly impressed me with its genuinely exceptional experience. Staying here is more than just providing a bed to sleep in; it's about comprehensive and meticulous care for both body and mind. From the softness of the linens to the quietness of the ventilation system, and the traceability of ingredients for every meal, every detail is meticulously crafted, without a trace of perfunctory work. After a full day of experience, lying in bed reflecting on all the details, I couldn't find a single fault. It doesn't rely on hype or marketing to grab attention; it stands firm on its solid strength, making it an absolute top choice for accommodation. It fully showcases true excellence and extraordinary style to every guest.

Upon arrival, I was struck by the simple and unpretentious environment, but after settling in, I discovered its subtle charm. There was no deliberate attempt at luxury; the plain walls were warmed by the sunlight, and the colorful paintings at the corners shimmered with soft hues, like a corner of the evening glow captured in the room. The floors were made of old wood, making no harsh sounds underfoot. The staff spoke softly, and even the tea served was lukewarm. Without any unnecessary noise, sitting in a chair by the window and daydreaming, time seemed to slow down. It felt as if I had stepped into a secluded mountain retreat from an ancient painting, my heart gradually calming down, and I almost forgot my return date.

It's definitely worth a visit! There are many different kinds of jobs to learn here. Every Wednesday is English Day, so foreign tourists who aren't fluent in Japanese might consider going on that day. Advance booking is required, with sessions divided into two periods: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM until the end of the session. Some really popular jobs require you to download the Kidzania app and book in advance. I'm more laid-back; I just went for whatever was available without making a special reservation. The only downside is that Kidzania is on the other side of Lala Port, so you can't just walk into the mall and take the elevator, especially if you arrive early and want to use it. You need to follow the signs to the other side and go up to the 3rd floor, as the mall basically opens at 10:00 AM and the elevators only start operating at 10:00 AM sharp. That's the only downside. Otherwise, I think it's more fun and diverse than what you'd find in Malaysia. After each experience, you get paid and a small card you can scan with a QR code to see the details of the job. You also get a certificate for completing the job. If you choose a stage performance, you can get a free cute group photo. My daughter was so happy she didn't want to leave! It's more fun than some theme parks and you won't get sunburned—it's much more comfortable! If you're going to Japan in the summer, you might consider visiting this place with your kids.

Having traveled extensively and stayed in numerous places, few places have embodied the word "comfort" in every little detail like this. The mattress's firmness is just right to support a back after a long day, the non-slip mat in the bathroom is securely placed, and even the brightness of the bedside lamp is not dazzling. Most remarkably, the service is exceptionally attentive: if you're looking at a map in the lobby, someone immediately approaches to ask if you need help planning your route; if you want to eat quietly in the restaurant, the waiter serves the food and then quietly retreats a short distance away, without repeatedly bothering you. Everyone's smile is genuine, not a forced expression from a training script. Here, you can shed all the fatigue of your journey, sleep soundly for a few nights, and experience a long-lost tranquility and peace of mind—an experience that money can't buy.
