Take a day to visit Utsunomiya, the station you pass through on your way to Nikko, and experience its unique charm.
It's about a 20-minute walk straight from Utsunomiya Station.
Climbing the stone steps to the shrine offers views of Utsunomiya's streets. The shrine enshrines three deities who are believed to bring good fortune in relationships, business success, traffic safety, health, and longevity.
A particularly unique feature is the "gyoza-zuki" (gyoza dumplings) and "strawberry-zuki" (strawberry dumplings) – these are only found in Utsunomiya.
Visiting in the afternoon or near dusk offers a different perspective for photos.
There are donki (traditional Japanese kukri) shops, shopping areas, and restaurants opposite the shrine, making it very convenient.
