Kneza Mihaila is the main pedestrian shopping street in the center of Belgrade, with a total length of approx. 1 km. One end connects to Republic Square, and the other leads directly to Kalemegdan and the Belgrade Fortress. After walking the length of the street, you can continue up the riverside hill to overlook the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers. The street is named after the Serbian Prince Mihailo Obrenović, and his equestrian statue on Republic Square remains a landmark where locals meet to this day. Many mansions built in the late 19th century have been preserved along the street; influential wealthy merchant families of the time bought properties here, and these old buildings now form a charming urban landscape in the Old Town. The entire street is lined with various shops, outdoor cafes, galleries, second-hand bookstores, and antique shops, with street performers and handicraft stalls found everywhere. It is recommended to start from the Republic Square side and take a leisurely stroll to Kalemegdan. Along the way, keep an eye out for the historic building housing the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and if you get tired, there are cafes everywhere to take a break.Belgrade · 74.5 km from Vrsac

House of Flowers

House of Flowers, also known as the "Flower House," is the final resting place of former Yugoslav leader Josip Broz Tito and his wife, Jovanka. This was originally a winter garden next to Tito's residence, where he enjoyed working, resting, and tending to plants during his lifetime. In accordance with his wishes, he was buried in the center of the flower house, and his wife, Jovanka, was laid to rest beside him after her passing. Today, the area where flowers once bloomed around the tomb is covered with white stones, but the name "House of Flowers" has remained in use. Stepping inside the House of Flowers, you will find a rectangular mausoleum made of white marble in the center. The tombstone is engraved with "Josip Broz Tito, 1892–1980" in three lines of gilded letters, simple yet solemn. The permanent exhibition surrounding it is worth a close look: starting in 1957, every year on May 25, Tito's birthday (which was also Yugoslavia's "Youth Day"), young people from all over would pass meticulously crafted batons to Belgrade to present to him. These uniquely shaped batons, along with the accompanying letters and photos, are now displayed here, serving as a unique window into that era of Yugoslavia.Belgrade · 76.5 km from Vrsac

Chinese Cultural Center

Chinese Cultural Center faces the old city across the Sava. Today, the Belgrade Chinese Cultural Center has been built on the original site. The building's facade incorporates imagery of Chinese landscape paintings, and statues of Confucius and Laozi stand in front of the entrance. The two monuments in front of the site are the core of this place: one was erected by the City of Belgrade and uses Chinese and Serbian to express gratitude for the support and friendship China provided during difficult times for the people of Serbia, and to commemorate the fallen martyrs. The other was erected by the Chinese side and is inscribed in Chinese, Serbian, and English with "Commemorate the martyrs, cherish peace" in memory of the three martyrs who sacrificed their lives. Fresh flowers are laid before the monuments all year round. There are no typical tourist attractions here, and the site is small and can be seen in a short time. It is a place to slow down, stand quietly, and pay your respects.Belgrade · 76.8 km from Vrsac

Wandering down Kneza Mihaila Street feels like stepping into the beating heart of Belgrade, and it's an experience that resonates with both history and modern flair. The architectural tapestry along Kneza Mihaila is a captivating journey through time. Elegant buildings stand as silent witnesses to the city's past, while contemporary structures inject a vibrant energy into the atmosphere. It's a picturesque stroll that seamlessly blends the old and the new.For shopaholics like myself, Kneza Mihaila is a dream come true. The array of stores caters to every whim, from global brands to hidden gems offering local treasures. Exploring these shops feels like embarking on a treasure hunt, each find telling a unique story.Cafés and eateries line the street, inviting you to take a leisurely break. Whether it's people-watching from a charming terrace or delving into the local culinary scene, Kneza Mihaila transforms into a haven for both culture and gastronomy.Yet, amidst the charm, there's the undeniable reality of popularity. Kneza Mihaila is a magnet for locals and tourists alike, creating a lively but sometimes crowded ambiance. Navigating through the bustle requires a bit of patience, but the energy is infectious. In my book, Kneza Mihaila isn't just a street; it's a living, breathing testament to Belgrade's soul. Each step feels like a dance between tradition and modernity, history and the present. If you're ready for an immersive and bustling slice of Belgrade life, Kneza Mihaila awaits with open arms.

The address is located in the northeast of Belgrade's main city. After Tito's death, he was buried in the greenhouse of the presidential residence. It is located at 15 Užice Street, Belgrade, next to the Museum of the History of the Former Yugoslavia.

In front of the site of the former Chinese Embassy in Yugoslavia, there are stone tablets commemorating the three Chinese journalists who died. We came here to pay homage to the heroes who are sleeping in a foreign country, and never forget the national humiliation! The new "Chinese Cultural Center" building was built on the site, reflecting the rise of the Chinese people.
