Gorka Szczesliwicka

Located in the southwestern suburbs of Warsaw, Górka Szczęśliwicka offers an urban ski experience in the Polish capital at an altitude of 45m. This eco-friendly hill, built from construction debris, is covered with two ski slopes in winter, and the night lighting system dyes the snowy slopes amber, paying tribute to the historical tradition of using them as signal lights during the Warsaw Uprising. Outside of the ski season, a 200m metal slide unfolds on the south side of the hill, where visitors can ride a special device to experience a summer descent at speeds of 40 km/h. The observation deck at the summit is designed to follow the course of the Vistula River, and the telescope bases are inlaid with relief carvings of the emblems of Warsaw's administrative districts. The pine boardwalk on the hillside features physical training stations, where the balance beam apparatus replicates the steel structure of the Świętokrzyski Bridge. This four-season hill, which integrates urban memory into leisure functions, has become a daily destination for Warsaw citizens to practice "urban micro-adventures."Warsaw · 4.6 km from downtown

The Mermaid's Statue is an important city symbol of Warsaw, the capital of Poland, commonly depicted as a mermaid with the upper body of a woman and the tail of a fish, holding a sword in her right hand and a shield in her left, representing the strength and courage to protect the city. The image of the mermaid appeared in Warsaw's city seals as early as the late 14th–early 15th century, though the early image was different from today's, having evolved over several centuries to gradually become the combination of a woman and a fish tail. Today, this motif appears widely in Warsaw's city emblem, public buildings, and urban decorations, and is a common symbol tourists encounter when learning about Warsaw's history and urban culture.Warsaw · 1.8 km from downtown

Warsaw’s Old Town is a stunning testament to the resilience and rich history of the Polish people. Originally established in the 13th century, this UNESCO World Heritage Site was almost entirely destroyed during World War II but has been meticulously reconstructed. Walking through the cobbled streets, visitors can feel the blend of medieval charm and historical significance in every corner, from the colorful facades of historic tenement houses to the grandeur of the Royal Castle, which offers a fascinating glimpse into Polish royalty and national history.Market Square is the heart of Old Town, where vibrant cafes, restaurants, and shops offer everything from traditional Polish cuisine to charming souvenirs. Statues and monuments, such as the iconic Mermaid of Warsaw, add to the area’s character and reflect the deep cultural symbolism of the city. Nearby, St. John’s Archcathedral and other churches showcase exquisite architecture and house important religious relics.Whether you're a history enthusiast, a culture seeker, or simply looking for a beautiful place to explore, Warsaw’s Old Town offers an unforgettable experience that celebrates Poland's endurance, beauty, and cultural heritage. It's a place where past and present beautifully coexist, making it a must-visit for anyone coming to Warsaw.

Royal Castle, originally built between 1598 and 1619, was the site of the drafting of Europe's first modern constitution and the world's second written national constitution—the Constitution of 1793. (The world's earliest written constitution is the United States Constitution of 1788). Historically, Royal Castle has been repeatedly damaged and looted by Swedish, Brandenburg, German, and Russian troops. It suffered severe damage during World War II but was rebuilt to its original design after the war.

This is the best safe haven in the bustling city. The most important thing is that there are white peacocks walking here and mandarin ducks in pairs...a wonderful harmony between the city and nature.

This museum is very large and interesting and Poland is a country with the largest diaspora of Jews besides Russia, and Ukraine. It is very well organized, clean, modern, and large. However the cost is not low. It is pricey.

It is the most worthy tallest building in Warsaw, with a total height of 234 meters. It was built by the former Soviet Union and presented to Warsaw. It has a strong former Soviet architectural style and is a landmark building in Warsaw. It is called "Stalin's syringe" or "Russian wedding cake". However, such a beautiful building is completely inconsistent with the style of the surrounding new town and the old town in the distance. The complicated historical process has made the Poles have a complex feeling of love and hate for this building. It is said that there is a lot of space inside and various exhibitions are often held. This reminds me of the "Sino-Soviet Friendship Building" in Shanghai. Haha, it is indeed a building of the same style.

On the west bank of the Vistula River in Warsaw stands a bronze sculpture with a human body and a fish tail. This is the symbol of the heroic city of Warsaw - the Warsaw Mermaid. In Poland, the Vistula River, which flows into the Peronian Sea, is said to have a mermaid. At that time, a young man named Wald and a young woman named Shava traveled by boat down the river to the current Polish capital Warsaw to open up their homeland. The mermaid in the river was their witness and protector. This place gradually developed into a city. In order to commemorate them, later generations combined their names and called it "Warsaw" as the name of the city. At the same time, the image of the mermaid was used as the emblem of Warsaw.
