Yin Xu is the ruins of the late Shang Dynasty capital in China, the first historically confirmed capital city, located in Yindu District, Anyang. A large number of cultural relics with precious historical value have been unearthed at Yin Xu, including bronze ware and oracle bone inscriptions. Among them, the 875 kg "Simuwu rectangular ding" is a treasured bronze artifact, while the oracle bone inscriptions represent ancient Chinese writing and the precursor to Chinese characters. Their discovery altered China's archaeological chronology, pushing the credible recorded history of China back to the Shang Dynasty. The Yin Xu royal tomb site within the attraction is academically recognized as the royal burial ground and sacrificial site of the Shang dynasty. The palace area has yielded a large quantity of oracle bones, bronze artifacts, including the famous "Simuwu rectangular ding." Thirteen royal tombs, over 2,000 burial pits, sacrificial pits, and chariot pits have been discovered here. The eastern section of the royal tomb site features numerous sacrificial pits containing human (sacrificial victims) and animal skeletons, serving as a public sacrificial ground for the Shang royal family to honor their ancestors. The Yin Xu palace and temple complex site served as the venue for Shang kings to handle state affairs and reside, representing the most significant ruins and component of Yin Xu, encompassing over 80 architectural foundations including palaces and temples. To the west and south of the palace and temple complex lies a manually excavated defensive moat encircling the structures, functioning similarly to a palace city. The temple complex is also recognized as one of the renowned "classical city-states" among ancient civilizations worldwide. Within the palace and temple ruins area lies the tomb of Fu Hao, the consort of King Wu Ding of the Shang dynasty. This is the only well-preserved tomb of a Shang royal family member discovered to date, and the only one that can be linked to oracle bone inscriptions to confirm its age, owner, and identity. The tomb chamber contained 16 sacrificial victims and yielded over a thousand artifacts, including bone objects, jade pieces, and bronze vessels. In the eastern part of the attraction, there is also an "Oracle bone stele forest" that displays a large number of oracle bone inscriptions in the form of stone carvings. Visitors who are interested can go and take a look.Anyang · 53.4 km from Xun County

Each hall is relatively small in scale. Travelers can follow the attraction map to visit the attractions along the central axis before exploring some attractions on both sides. Travelers can view the interior scenes of a Northern Song government office in the main hall and council chamber along the central axis. In the plum blossom hall in the northern part of the attraction, there are recreated scenes of Judge Bao adjudicating cases while "sitting southward in the yamen," complete with wax figures. West of the main gate, the view includes a prison office, Kaifeng Fu (Kaifeng Palace)-prison temple, death row cells, and gendered prison cells—all arranged with sculptures, torture devices, and scenes reflecting the penal administration of the Northern Song period. In the Qianlong hall and Qingxin tower east of the central axis, travelers can see statues of emperors Taizong, Zhenzong, and Qinzong of the Song dynasty, along with biographical introductions of all Kaifeng magistrates from the Northern Song era. The Best Spring In The World is located in downtown Jinan, featuring "one river (the moat), one lake (Daming Lake), three springs (the Baotu Spring, Heihu Spring, and Wulongtan spring clusters), and four parks (Baotu Spring Park, Huancheng Park, Wulongtan Park, and Daming Lake Park)." The attraction centers around Baotu Spring, renowned as the "No. 1 Spring Under Heaven." Its waters flow into rivers and converge into lakes, harmoniously blending with the ancient Mingfu City. To the north lies Wulongtan (Five Dragon Pool), while to the east stretches Jinan's Huancheng Park (home to the Black Tiger Spring and other springs), both highly celebrated in Jinan. These springs boast exceptional water quality. Daming Lake, a natural lake formed by the convergence of numerous springs, receives water from its southern shore. When full, the water flows out through the Northern Water Gate, built during the Song Dynasty on the lake's north shore. The lakebed consists of impermeable igneous rock, preventing flooding during heavy rains or drought. Often described as "a confluence of springs merging to embrace the Jiluo region," it's hailed as the "Pearl of the Spring City." Similarly, the moat formed by spring waters encircles the ancient city like a jade belt, offering scenic cruise rides along its course. The attraction boasts stunning natural scenery and rich cultural heritage, featuring not only springs, rivers, and lakes but also numerous historical landmarks. Highlights include the Chaoran Tower dating back to the Yuan Dynasty and the Luoyuan Hall originally built during the Northern Wei Dynasty (now a Ming-era structure). Shaolin story The most stubborn holdout in history: When it comes to stubborn holdouts, they didn't just appear in modern times. As early as the Tang dynasty, the Shaolin Temple emerged as such a case. Emperor Li Yuan of Tang issued an order for its demolition but failed. When Li Shimin came to power, not only was the Shaolin Temple spared from punishment, but it also received generous rewards. Compared to today's holdouts, the Shaolin Temple can be called the most legendary stubborn holdout in history. The origin of the matter was an imperial edict issued by Li Yuan, ordering the demolition of all temples within Henan province, including the Shaolin Temple. After receiving the imperial decree, hundreds of monks at Shaolin Temple refused to comply, standing united and resolute in collective defiance. Li Yuan had no choice, as the Tang dynasty was newly established and could not afford to gain a reputation for cruelty. He tacitly allowed the temple's "retention" but revoked the 4,000 acres of temple land previously granted by the Prince of Qin. Later, when Li Shimin became emperor, he granted Shaolin Temple an additional 4,000 mu of land, permitted the temple to train monk soldiers, lift the prohibition against killing, and consume alcohol and meat. Inside the temple, there is a stele titled "Emperor Taizong of Tang's decree to the Shaolin Temple abbot," which records this historical event. You may want to see it when visiting the Shaolin Temple.China · Dengfeng

A huge thank you to our guide today, Ms. Feng Ping. Her solid historical knowledge allowed her to vividly and clearly explain the historical stories behind the Shang and Zhou dynasties' ritual systems, diverse cultures, and the custom of "clinking cups and exchanging toasts." The entire three-hour tour was incredibly rich in content. The overall logic was excellent. The opening provided a general overview of the museum, and the content flowed smoothly between the exhibition halls. Her pacing was superb, bringing the profound Central Plains civilization to life. I felt so fortunate to have met Ms. Feng Ping; she's a perfect museum guide in China!

The architecture is magnificent. Climbing Qingxin Tower at sunset offers a panoramic view of Bao Gong Lake, which is incredibly photogenic (although my photography skills are quite limited). There weren't many people. Because of limited time, I didn't get to see many worthwhile places, watch any shows, or participate in any scripted tours, which is a real shame. I'll definitely make the most of it next time. Oh, and I actually found a miniature Fu Hao owl-shaped bronze vessel in a very dark room in the west wing of Gongkui Tower.

The Taihang Mountain cliffs are magnificent, the Grand Canyon streams are crystal clear, the Jianlong Waterfall is spectacular, and most of the trails are gentle, making them easy for seniors to walk. The Cliff World viewing platform offers a wide view and is great for taking photos. The downsides are that there are still quite a few steps, some attractions are not suitable for seniors, and it gets crowded during holidays, so it's recommended to avoid peak times. Overall, the scenery is beautiful, and the whole family can enjoy a pleasant trip.
