It has been listed by National Geographic China as one of China's most beautiful self-driving routes. The Dada Highway begins at Darinor Lake (Inner Mongolia's second-largest inland lake, meaning "sea-like lake" in Mongolian), located in western Keshiketeng Banner. The end point is the Ashatu Stone Forest (a National 5A-level scenic spot), located in the foothills of the Greater Khingan Range and renowned for its granite rock formations.
