郭凯斌The rare sunny weather continues (it seems like the whole of Hunan is like this) 🤩. My original plan was to cycle to Liuyang this weekend, but Daweishan is too far from the city (over 60 kilometers) 😅. The only attraction in the city is the evening fireworks show at the Sky Theater, which would require staying overnight. Since a day trip wasn't possible, I figured I might as well go to Zhangjiajie, which had been on my wish list for a while 😁. After get off work on Friday, I packed light and took the bullet train from Jianshan Station near my company to Zhangjiajie (no need to bring a change of clothes, just a fleece sweatshirt was enough; the hotel has bathrobes and a dryer, so I could wash and wear them every day) 😁. After a two-hour bullet train ride to Zhangjiajie West, I cycled to a hotel near Tianmen Mountain for the night. On Saturday, I left early at 7 am and found a reasonably priced breakfast place (Junfulai) near the Municipal Statistics Bureau on Dianping. It was indeed good; the soup was authentic, the toppings were generous, and I hadn't seen beef brisket noodles for ten yuan in a long time. The condiments were also plentiful 👍. After breakfast, I walked along Lilan West Road and cycled along the Lishui River to the Tianmen Mountain cable car entrance (Line A). At 8:00 AM, the earliest time, Line A involved taking a cable car to the mountainside and then a shuttle bus winding up the mountain road to Tianmen Cave. Apparently, Tianmen Cave is just the entrance (the actual scenic area is at the summit) 😲. I chose to climb the Heavenly Ladder (a leisurely stroll, far less strenuous than the Dawutong Hero's Slope I climbed in Shenzhen) 🤭. After that, there was no more climbing (except for a short walking path from the Davidia involucrata Garden to Yunmeng Xianding; the rest was all escalators and elevators). There was a small pool at the top of the Heavenly Ladder. Then, I took five or six escalators to reach the summit. At the earliest time, there were only a few tourists; it only started to get busier around 10:00 AM (there were queues for the escalators). To avoid the crowds and enjoy the scenery alone, I recommend going up the mountain as early as possible. There are two glass walkways on the east and west routes at the summit, each with a separate fee of only five yuan. Because it's been winter for a while, the mountain forests are bare. Besides the stunning natural mountain scenery, what amazed me most was how these walkways and facilities were built on such a rugged mountainside 😲🤔. However, the three giant incense burners at the foot of the ladder, the several attractions related to Guiguzi, and the prayer ribbons and plaques with messages tied to the branches along the way gave the impression of using religious and metaphysical elements to compensate for the lack of cultural depth in the scenic area 😅. After the tour, we descended via Route B. Compared to the ascent, the cable car down was significantly upgraded, with a brand-new exterior and spacious interior. After descending, we arrived at the Route B entrance (National Geological Park) and then took a shuttle bus back to the Route A entrance.

_TX***kiVisiting Zhangjiajie National Park was an unforgettable experience. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking — the towering sandstone pillars, lush forests, and misty valleys look like something straight out of a fantasy movie. Every viewpoint feels unique, and it’s impossible not to be amazed by the sheer scale and beauty of the landscape

M84***65This visit only opened the Mawangdui section of the museum. I was amazed by the craftsmanship and wisdom of the ancients: the 49g-thin outer gauze garment, the lacquerware, the artifacts—the most impressive of all was the coffin of Lady Xin Zhui, the main subject of the museum, with its exquisite and luxurious layers, the outer coffin being magnificent and solemn. The guide provided detailed explanations and took excellent care of me, making it a truly enjoyable visit. 👍

VanessaokayThe location is excellent, making it convenient for sightseeing. It's also very quiet at night, with no noise from downstairs. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and the staff are very friendly. Overall, a great experience!

E08***04The cultural atmosphere is rich, and the surrounding scenery is beautiful. During the day, you can overlook the Xiangjiang River and Yuelu Mountain. In the evening, you can enjoy the golden sunset. At night, you can admire the magnificent lights of the surrounding city's high-rise buildings and the Xiangjiang Bridge across the river in the distance. It is truly breathtaking.

二月鹰,北京I visited Yueyang Tower several decades ago when I was in college. Now retired, I returned this spring and recited, "It embraces distant mountains, swallows the Yangtze River, vast and boundless," which was still very pleasant. Senior citizen tickets have improved the cost-effectiveness of sightseeing for seniors!

_TS***edLove the vibe and also the show they had outside. There was an extra show that you could pay to see for a little more money (15 RMB). Definitely worth going in. The show was super entertaining and interactive.

Anonymous userAbsolutely beautiful! You could easily spend a whole day there if you have plenty of time. We spent most of the day there, and the scenery exceeded our expectations. It has the features of the Grand Canyon in the United States, as well as unique Danxia landforms. There are also many facilities, and the greenery is particularly beautiful. When we first got off the bus, we thought we were in Palm City, USA. The lawns were also very nice, and the water was clear. Highly recommended!

Anonymous userThis was the final leg of my Hunan trip, and the scenery was quite beautiful. The classic route was temporarily closed for road construction, so I entered from Bailongtan instead. I thought it would be easy, but after finishing, I realized I'm not young anymore. If I had known, I would have just taken a bus to Nantianmen. Although the entire hike was fraught with difficulties, my belief remained strong, and I finally reached the summit of Zhurong Peak! The biggest takeaway from this trip to Hengshan Mountain is that "as long as you persevere, you will eventually overcome yourself and achieve your dreams!" The view from the summit was absolutely breathtaking!

lyl***08Based on my own experience, if you're not physically fit, you really should enter from the South Gate and exit from the East Gate. First, visit Yuelu Academy, Aiwan Pavilion, and Ancient Lushan Temple at the South Gate, then return to the South Gate sightseeing bus stop to take the sightseeing bus up the mountain. Once you reach the top, take the cable car or sightseeing bus down from the East Gate.
