You absolutely must go from Fangdong to Lingyan. You can take a cable car up from Fangdong, and the mountain path isn't tiring. Lingyan, on the other hand, is entirely a staircase path; if you're not physically fit, it's best not to go from Lingyan. (There's no cable car at Lingyan.) The Cloud Time Cliff Cafe in Fangdong is very photogenic. It's a great place to rest, have coffee, and take pictures. The suspended iron suspension bridge is the only way to connect Fangdong and Lingyan scenic areas. I'm afraid of heights, but after crossing it, I didn't find it as scary as I imagined.
