The ticket price will fluctuate during the off-season and peak season. We went there during the National Day. The starting point is opposite the Zermatt train station. It takes 5 stops to get to Gornergrat by cogwheel train. Gornergrat is the last stop. Due to the high altitude, it is easier to see the Matterhorn. Taking reflection photos in Rotenboden requires higher weather conditions. We waited for two hours before we saw it.

To see the snow-capped mountain up close, you still have to take the gear train to Gornergrat. Generally, you start from Zermatt GBB first, then reach Gornergrat, the highest altitude, where the probability of seeing the Matterhorn is greater, and then go down one stop to Rotenboden to see the reflection, which requires higher weather conditions, and sometimes you have to wait for sunny days. After watching the reflection, you can choose to return by the original route, or continue to play one stop at a time. It is recommended to check the weather with a local app before departure.
