Outstanding

This tour of Wenshu Monastery in Chengdu was a wonderful experience! Despite the high temperature in Chengdu today, the monastery's ancient trees and scattered halls made it very cool and comfortable to walk around, not at all as stuffy as I had imagined. Special thanks to our guide, Mr. Lin Yintian, from Shu Xiaojiang. His explanations were detailed and comprehensive, covering everything from the origin of the monastery's name and its historical evolution, anecdotes about eminent monks throughout history, to various historical stories, calligraphy and paintings by famous figures, and the temple's treasures. He also vividly explained the stories behind proverbs like "Don't look at the monks' faces, look at the Buddha's face," and objectively introduced the importance and support given to Buddhist culture by various sectors. His explanations were insightful yet easy to understand. During the tour, Mr. Lin also introduced us to unique plants such as Bodhi trees and monk fruit, greatly broadening our knowledge. His photography skills are also outstanding; he kindly helped me take photos, perfectly framing and angled them. He even thoughtfully provided fans to help us cool off in the hot weather. We visited for nearly two hours and gained a lot from the experience. It gave me a deeper understanding of the heritage of Wenshu Monastery and Buddhist culture, making the trip worthwhile!
