Mingshi Rural

Mingshi rural is located on the west side of Daxin county, Chongzuo city, approx. a 1-hour drive from the famous Detian transnational waterfall attraction. Visitors often explore both attractions together. Mingshi rural features unique karst landforms with picturesque mountains surrounded by flowing water, creating exceptionally beautiful scenery.

Beyond the picturesque landscapes where mountains meet waters, the attraction also features refreshingly rustic villages and farmland scenery. Visitors can enjoy bamboo rafting, photography, and sightseeing here, immersing themselves in the breathtaking views and tranquil rural life. The popular TV drama "The journey of flower" was filmed at this location, further boosting its fame.

Mingshi rural covers a vast area, primarily featuring the natural river and rural scenery in the upper reaches of the Mingshi river, as well as the Mingshi rural Zhuang folk museum built in the lower reaches. Visitors can explore the area through bamboo rafting or land sightseeing, with half a day generally being suitable for the visit. Many visitors also choose to stay overnight in the attraction to leisurely enjoy the surrounding beauty and experience the freshness and tranquility of rural life.

Bamboo rafting is a popular way to explore the attraction. Visitors can first reach the downstream Mingshi Rural Zhuang Folk Museum to purchase rafting tickets, where shuttle buses transport them to the starting point. The experience combines approximately 40 min of rafting with land touring for a total of over 1 hour. Each raft comes with a guide providing live commentary. Along the route, you'll admire picturesque mountain reflections resembling Guilin's iconic Yellow Cloth Shoal scenery, pass through crisscrossed farmland and tranquil villages—each unfolding rural vista offering serene delight.

The endpoint of the bamboo rafting is the Mingshi Rural Zhuang Folk Museum, featuring a totem square, artificial lake scenery, Zhuang villages, chieftain residences, and cultural streets—primarily showcasing sculptures and architectural styles reflecting Zhuang customs, worth a brief visit. Additionally, Zhuang song and dance performances are frequently held here; if encountered, take a moment to enjoy them.

Another way to explore is through land touring. Start by visiting the Mingshi Rural Zhuang Folk Museum, then rent a bicycle for cycling around the area. Bikes are typically available from local hotels or farm stays, and a cycling route map is provided upon rental. Several routes are available along the roads near the attraction, with the northwest direction (toward the river's upstream) being highly recommended. This route offers stunning karst landscapes and pastoral views similar to those seen during bamboo rafting.
