Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum

The Kelvin Grove Art Museum is located opposite the main campus of the University of Glasgow. It is the most visited museum in the UK except the British Museum. The museum was one of the main buildings of the Glasgow World's Fair in 1901. It adopts the Spanish Baroque style and uses the red sandstone commonly used in Glasgow for the outer walls. Exhibits in the museum detail Scottish history and culture, as well as a large collection of nature and European art. The treasure of the town hall is Salvador Dali's masterpiece "Christ of Saint John of the Cross".
