Helsinki Central Library Oodi: A Book Lover’s Dream (That’s Totally Kid-Friendly)
#cityplaybook
Right in the heart of the city, Helsinki Central Library Oodi isn’t just a place for books—it’s a modern, light-filled hangout that locals absolutely love. Whether you’re there to read, grab a coffee, or just chill with great views of the city, Oodi feels more like a community hub than a typical library. Families will love the kid-friendly spaces, with play areas, storytime zones, and even gaming rooms. It’s super welcoming, beautifully designed, and a must-see if you're in Helsinki—especially if you're traveling with kids or just want to relax indoors.
Located in the centre of Helsinki this is a weird shaped building with multiple levels. plenty of things happening other than just reading and studying, there’s a kids play area and coffee and restaurants
A very modern and stylish building that is in fact a library. A nice place to visit and read or simply explore the building. It is right next to the central railway station.
The most amazing library I have ever seen. The building is modernist and minimalist with a Nordic style. There are all kinds of things that children, adults, and even the elderly are interested in. It is not just a library. You can do 3D printing, learn sewing, play video games, and have a private study space.
It's so stunning, the most beautiful bookstore. It's just right to come here after visiting the National Museum.
Very amazing library, shocking, it feels like an urban indoor park
