Taihu Dragon Dream One Day and One Night Fun Guide
Our trip to Taihu Dragon Dream was very fulfilling! In just one day and one night, we experienced several attractions and had a great time! We are a couple on a self-driving tour, sharing this guide for your reference~
📕Schedule: Arrive at Yashi Hotel at 8 PM on Saturday ➡️ Fireworks at 8:30 PM ➡️ Wake up and have breakfast at 8 AM on Sunday ➡️ Arrive at Animal World at 9 AM ➡️ Lunch at nearby Pizza Hut at 12 PM ➡️ Watch the Grand Circus at 2 PM ➡️ Arrive at Huzhou Moon Hot Springs at 4 PM ➡️ After soaking in the hot springs at 6 PM, have dinner at a nearby farmhouse restaurant ➡️ Depart for Hangzhou around 7 PM ✅
⭕️Although the schedule looks full, there is plenty of time and it’s not rushed at all! Also, it’s not very tiring~
Here’s our experience for each part:
1️⃣ Accommodation: We stayed at Yashi. The package ticket was the cheapest, and it was indeed easy to encounter issues as mentioned online. We changed rooms twice. The first queen room was small, had a balcony with a view of the fireworks, but the door didn’t close tightly and the wind noise was harsh. The second was a free upgrade to a suite, but there was a strange wooden fish knocking sound on the ceiling 😅. We finally settled in the third suite and could sleep peacefully. Although it was a bit of a hassle, the hotel butler’s service was very good and responded promptly to solve the problems. Of course, it would be best if these issues didn’t happen. The breakfast had a wide variety and was pretty good.
2️⃣ Fireworks: We went to the bridge in front of the Huzhou Conference Center, which had a great view and not many people. The big fireworks were really beautiful~
3️⃣ Animal World: We arrived right at 9 AM when the park opened, and there were hardly any people. We brought carrots and cabbage that we bought online ourselves. We started with the walking area; many animals at the front couldn’t be fed, but at the black bear area, you could pay 20 yuan to buy apples to feed them. The black bears actually waved at you, which was priceless! Later, we fed the elephants, camels, ostriches, and zebras ourselves. Then we took the small train to the driving area, which was more of a quick tour without close animal contact. It was less free than the self-driving option where you can stop anytime to feed animals. When feeding the camel carrots, it gently nibbled my hand—definitely worth it, haha. We also saw the tigers in an exciting encounter.
4️⃣ Grand Circus: It was great! Many thrilling acts! Most performers were foreigners, and the costumes, makeup, stage design, and lighting were all exquisite, showing a big budget. Our favorite acts were the diving and motorcycle stunts, with some completely unexpected moments! We booked a ticket through a proxy and got a first-class seat in the middle of row 9, but when we arrived at 1:30 PM, there weren’t many people. You could have upgraded or arrived earlier to get a good front-row seat in section B, which also offers a great view. Although section A lets you see the performers clearly and interact, you have to turn your neck a lot, while section B’s higher seats are more comfortable to watch. Spending extra on the proxy was a bit unnecessary 🥲—definitely a misstep.
5️⃣ Moon Hot Springs: The hotel’s own hot springs are not large but have quite a few pools. On Sunday afternoon, it wasn’t crowded, so we could find empty pools and enjoy a private soak—awesome! The fish therapy pool requires an extra fee, about 30 yuan per person, I forgot exactly. Free parking for three hours, and after soaking, they even gave us some snacks.
Overall, we had a fantastic time!!

This is a popular choice for hot springs in the Yangtze River Delta region during winter. The Balinese rainforest ambiance and naturally high-quality hot spring water are captivating and irresistible. In this spacious area filled with lush greenery, cascading waterfalls, and flowing streams, there are over 20 uniquely themed pools with different benefits, such as red wine, milk, rose, coffee, and cypress water. Each pool offers unique health benefits, including beauty enhancement, clearing heat, and nourishing the body. There's also a children's wading pool and water park area with slides, making it very family-friendly and allowing children to fully enjoy the hot springs. While the changing, washing, and rest area facilities are somewhat dated, they are well-maintained. However, there's an extra charge for the fish spa pool, which is a bit inconvenient. After your soak, you can pick up a snack at the front desk, including fruit, yogurt, and biscuits.
The hot spring was very comfortable, and many small details were well done, such as free tea, plastic bags for wet clothes, and good amenities in the changing rooms. The only drawback was that one of the female staff members at the front desk spoke very loudly and was quite impolite.
I received a text message saying that I spent 149 yuan, but I actually paid 168 yuan. I don't know what happened, I was ripped off! The experience is OK, it's quite big, the price-performance ratio is average, but it's OK!
Moon Hot Spring is located in the South Taihu Lake Tourist Resort in Huzhou, adjacent to the Sheraton Moon Resort Hotel. It is divided into four areas: the hot spring main building reception center, indoor hot spring center, Tangwu Villa Garden and outdoor open-air hot spring area. It is a tourist resort integrating hot spring health care, spa, leisure and sightseeing. The architectural style of the entire hot spring is full of strong Southeast Asian style. The indoor hot spring center of the first phase looks like a "moon" shaped crystal glass dome from a distance. 26 hot spring pools with different styles are scattered throughout the tropical rainforest. You can choose different pools in the five elements health care area, organic flower and grass area, and fish therapy area according to your preferences, enjoy in the natural hot spring water, and suck in the fresh breath of the primeval forest. In addition, there are dozens of dynamic hot spring pools with different functions scattered throughout the outdoor terrace hot spring area next to Taihu Lake. Being in the spring pool, while enjoying the gurgling hot spring water, you can take in the beautiful scenery of Taihu Lake. At night, you may also be able to see the starry sky, which is very comfortable. Each villa in the Tangwu Villa Garden is also equipped with an independent private garden pool, giving you a very different experience. There are also 16 spa and foot bath rooms in the main building center of the first phase. Each room has a window balcony and an independent bath. All spa products are imported from the Swiss Valman series brand. The main building center provides free fruit drinks and snacks. In the business lounge and Chinese restaurant on the first floor, you can also taste health meals, buffets and Western snacks.
The Moon Hot Spring hidden in Taihu Lake is a popular check-in spot. It opens up a new world and a new way to play in the water world. I love it.
Ctrip's recommendations often evoke my yearning for unfamiliar places, so I pack my bags, book high-speed rail tickets or plane tickets, and go straight to the places recommended by Ctrip. It is true that Ctrip can help me go wherever I want.
At present, there are hot spring hotels in many places. Some so-called gentle hotels are not real hot springs. They are artificial hot water boiled in large boilers, pretending to be hot springs. How can hot springs be everywhere? To take a hot spring bath, you must take a hot spring bath that is heated by the rock layer coming out from the ground.
