The summer crowds were gone, the midday sun still hugged the coast at 25°C, and while the ocean was a bit chilly, the beaches were calm and peaceful. We joined a guided kayak tour — safe and fun, even for beginners — and paddled through turquoise water into a cave lit by the sun pouring through its natural skylight. Unforgettable! Here, you'll find Praia da Coelha (Fisherman's Beach) just a stone's throw away. Its unique charm is simply breathtaking. At first glance, you'll see white houses reminiscent of Santorini, making you feel like you've stepped into a dream. There's also a lively bar street and food street, offering everything you need for entertainment and dining 🥳. I highly recommend staying here for a night, slowing down, and fully experiencing the warmth of the sun and the gentle evening breeze. It's truly delightful 😍. Continuing along the edge of the beach, you'll discover a charming harbor and Albufeira Marina (📍Marina de Albufeira). There are so many ways to enjoy yourself at the marina! You can choose to explore the famous 📍Benagil Cave by boat or kayak, which is quite thrilling. If you're lucky, you might even witness the magical sight of dolphins leaping out of the water. Just imagine how amazing that would be! Of course, there's also parasailing, allowing you to overlook this beautiful sea from the sky 🌊. Opposite the marina are the candy-colored rainbow houses, vibrant and perfect for taking photos 📸! Any shot you take will be a hit on social media. The Benagil Cave tour is highly recommended for over an hour to fully appreciate the magnificent scenery shaped by years of erosion and weathering. Hidden between the cliffs are beautiful beaches, and you can also visit Sagres, a historic site of maritime exploration. Benagil Sea Cave If you come to Lagoa, you must go to the Benagil Sea Cave, known as the "Eye of God". Because there is no normal berth here, larger ships cannot approach, only small boats can dock, usually following the locals. The boat moves along the cliff, sailing along a waterway between the two rock walls, slowly approaching the destination. After years of wave erosion, the largest natural cave in Portugal was formed. Looking from the inside out, it is like standing on an unknown planet, exploring the light hole on the top, the rock layer is rich in color, and it changes endlessly with the sunlight. 🛬【Travel Tips】: Here you can enjoy cocktails or a few small dishes by the sea, look at the blue sky and white clouds, and feel the gentle sea breeze. The town is not like a popular tourist area, full of tourist commercial atmosphere, here you can only absorb and integrate everything locally, and feel the exotic customs. The Benagil Coast is located in southern Portugal. This time, we traveled from Albufeira all the way to the Benagil Coast to catch a glimpse of the stunning sea caves. These coastal sea caves are renowned for their breathtaking skylights. When sunlight streams through the openings, the seawater displays a mesmerizing array of colors. Only by seeing it with your own eyes can you truly appreciate its beauty. Looking out at the sea through each cave opening feels like viewing the magnificent ocean from a divine perspective. Here, you can enjoy the scenery from the cliffs or explore by boat, speedboat, or kayak. Tour boats can accommodate around 20 people, speedboats about 8-10 people, and kayaks 2-3 people. Kayaks allow you to reach the shore and fully experience the beauty of the sea caves, though it can be quite challenging. Speedboats and tour boats can get close to the cave entrances but cannot land on the shore. It is highly recommended to visit during good weather to fully appreciate the beauty of the sunlight streaming through.
