based on 24 reviewsThe Taihang Grand Canyon is a magnificent fissure carved by nature into the North China Plain. If you're tired of meticulously crafted tourist attractions, its raw, untamed beauty might rediscover your awe of nature. My personal experience and suggestions: 1. The core of the awe-inspiring experience – the canyon and cliffs Visual impact: Riding a sightseeing bus through the valley floor, you're surrounded by near-vertical, towering red rock walls, a sense of both oppression and grandeur. Sunlight moves through the cracks, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. Core trails: The streams, waterfalls, and pools of Peach Blossom Valley are interconnected, forming the "spirit" of the canyon, offering a cool and pleasant hiking experience. The towering stone staircase and suspended walkway at Wangxiangyan offer a more adventurous experience, suitable for thrill-seekers. 2. Tips for avoiding pitfalls and optimizing the experience Time management: The scenic area is vast; allocate at least a full day. It's recommended to visit Peach Blossom Valley (cooler) in the morning, and then head to Wangxiangyan or the Taihang Sky Road in the afternoon. Transportation Notes: Shuttle buses within the scenic area are mandatory in sections, but long queues are common during peak season. Entering the park early is key to avoiding crowds. Sky Road Views: The Taihang Sky Road offers expansive views, but some viewing platforms offer similar vistas. Choose 2-3 spots for photos; don't get off at every stop. Clothing and Equipment: Comfortable, non-slip hiking shoes are essential! Some sections are slippery, and the steps are steep. Pack light clothing and sunscreen; bring a light jacket in summer (temperatures can vary greatly in the valley). 3. Existing Drawbacks Commercialization: Many vendors operate along sections of the valley floor, slightly affecting the immersive experience. Additional paid attractions on the Sky Road (such as the glass bridge) are optional and can be chosen based on interest. Physical Requirements: This is not a leisurely stroll; good physical fitness is required throughout. Those traveling with elderly people or young children should carefully plan their route. Dining: Dining options within the scenic area are limited and expensive. It is recommended to bring your own snacks and water. 4. Unmissable Moments After the rain, mist rises from the valley floor, creating a scene of ethereal beauty. At dusk, the setting sun paints the red cliffs golden-red, a golden hour for photography. In summary: The Taihang Grand Canyon is not a "comfort resort" destination. Its charm lies in its raw geological power and breathtaking natural landscape. It's perfect for travelers who love mountains and rivers and are willing to explore its grandeur on foot. While management has its flaws, the sense of insignificance and awe felt when standing beneath the sheer cliffs and looking up at the sliver of sky is enough to make the trip worthwhile. One-sentence recommendation: Come here and experience the backbone of the 800-li Taihang Mountains with your own body—it's more vivid than any photograph.

Taohua Valley is a valley within a valley, about 4km long, with an altitude of about 800m-1736m, and a height difference of nearly 1,000m. The valley is full of steep and majestic peaks, and a winding Taohua Creek runs through the canyon. Grass vines hang down on both sides of the creek, and there are endless mixed woods. The green tide surging with the mountain wind is like the sea.

The "Taihang Sky Road"Attraction is located on the top of Taihang Mountain, starting from Taohua Valley Attraction in the north and ending at Xianxia Valley Attraction Area in the south. It is about 30km long. It is not only an important part of the Attraction's circular tourist road, but also a good location to overlook the magnificent scenery of Taihang Mountain.

The Linzhou Taihang Grand Canyon includes Peach Blossom Valley, Dream Valley, and Wangxiangyan Scenic Area. The canyon scenery is beautiful even in winter, and there aren't many tourists. We entered the scenic area at 8:30 am, and there were just enough tourists for one bus, so we went to Peach Blossom Valley first. We walked around, stopping frequently, and spent about an hour and a half in Peach Blossom Valley. After leaving Peach Blossom Valley, we took a shuttle bus along the Taihang Sky Road. The rest of the time was spent on public transport, so it wasn't tiring. The shuttle bus stops at each viewing platform, where everyone gets off to take photos and then gets back on. There weren't many tourists, so the shuttle bus wasn't rushing us, and we could explore at our leisure. The last attraction was Dream Valley, which has some amusement rides. There's also a skywalk glass viewing platform. It's said to be the highest in Asia, offering a 360-degree view of the Taihang Mountains.
The Taihang Grand Canyon Scenic Area is absolutely amazing! The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful, the activities are plentiful and fun, the service is exceptional, and the value for money is incredible. My experience with my partner was fantastic!
It is still worth going. It is very suitable for those who live nearby to take a break on Sunday. You can stay in the mountain for one night, and then go down the mountain to visit Shibanyan Town. There are a full range of food and drinks, and you can also listen to live singing 🎤. It is a very enjoyable and relaxing trip.
For those who are traveling by car, you can navigate to the Linzhou Taihang Grand Canyon Visitor Center, park in Area A, buy tickets and battery car tickets, then enter the scenic area and take a sightseeing bus to the entrance of Taohua Valley, check your ticket and enter. After a while, get off to climb the mountain, see the scenery, and walk over the water bridge. After arriving at Taohua Valley Folk Square, check your ticket again and get on the bus to tour the Taihang Sky Road. There are several sightseeing spots along the way where you can get off to view the scenery and then get on the bus directly to the Tianjing Viewing Platform, then take the sightseeing bus back to the Taohua Valley (formerly the Visitor Center) exit and enter the parking lot.
As a national 5A-level scenic spot, the scenery is far more beautiful than the oppressive feeling in the video. The following is my personal experience of self-driving tour, and I would like to give you some reference opinions. » Location of scenic spot: Anyang Linzhou Taihang Grand Canyon (Taohua Valley) » Difficulty level: Medium difficulty ⭐⭐, take a small bus to the scenic spot directly, the depth is long and there are few steep slopes » Travel suggestions: Very suitable for self-driving, it is recommended to stay in Linzhou city or the scenic spot » Play suggestions: Split into two days, 140 yuan is the two-day ticket price, no need to buy tickets repeatedly » Itinerary: (1) DAY1: Anyang-Linzhou-Taihang Grand Canyon (Taohua Valley)-Linzhou (2) DAY2: Linzhou-Taihang Grand Canyon (Wangxiangyan)-Return » Experience: 1. My child is just 3 years and 7 months old. It was the first time I brought him here. Unexpectedly, he completed the whole journey. He basically didn't let me hold him along the way. I saw that many children of the same age also had no problem at all. The difficulty was acceptable to children. 2. The scenic spot is too big, and the bus to the door feels a bit like survival in the wilderness. After visiting one scenic spot, people basically have no energy to challenge the next one. 3. There is a spring every three steps, a waterfall every five steps, and a pool every ten steps. The water is full of wild fish, which is very suitable for taking children to play in the water. 4. There are few supply stations on the way, and some filming points have many narrow roads. Everyone should pay attention to safety when taking pictures and walking. 5. To get out of the Taohua Valley scenic area, you need to walk a section of stone road to the village to get to the bus. The distance is long and difficult to walk. It is difficult for children and requires adult help. 6. It is strongly recommended that the scenic spot optimize the route and add more sightseeing shuttle buses. Children are happier in sightseeing buses than in buses. They sing all the way.
Taihang Grand Canyon is located in Shibanyan Township, Linzhou City, Anyang. You can buy a ticket from the bus station at Anyang Railway Station for 15 yuan, arrive at Linzhou Bus Station, and then share a car for 30 yuan per person to reach the scenic spot. This takes about two and a half hours. The scenery of the Grand Canyon is good. You can see beautiful scenery in this season. Especially the Taihang Sky Road in the Grand Canyon, it feels like waiting to enter the clouds.
Walk into Linzhou Shislate Town, stroll on the slate-paved streets, on both sides are stone streets, stone courtyards, stone walls, more than 90% of the buildings are stone as materials, simple and heavy. Gaojiatai Village in the town is a famous "Chinese painter village", attracting a large number of art students to sketch each year, they use brushes to capture the majesty and beauty of Taihang Mountain. In addition to the humanistic landscape, the natural scenery of slate rock town is also intoxicating. The stream in the peach blossom valley, the drops of Jiulian waterfall splash jade, is known as the "small yellow fruit tree waterfall". Taihang Tianlu is winding in the mountains, and the viewing platform overlooks the magnificent scenery of the Grand Canyon.
