One-day tour of Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park! A super comprehensive nanny-level guide, focusing on a relaxed vibe!
Who understands! Birthday babies in November are really so lucky! Every November, Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park offers benefits to birthday stars, either free entry or entry for 9.9 yuan. I've been using my birthday to check in for three consecutive years, and this year I successfully visited three times~
I never really make a detailed plan when I go, just focus on a relaxed and carefree feeling! After all, the ticket is almost free, so there’s no psychological pressure~ If I had to buy a ticket at the full price of two or three hundred yuan, I’d probably rush around like a special forces soldier, which wouldn’t be fun. Now, strolling slowly like this is much more comfortable!
🎫 Ticket tips:
Official full-day tickets usually cost 200-300 yuan, and afternoon tickets are about half price, which is quite cost-effective~ If you want to snag a deal, you can check the seafood market, where sometimes you can find tickets for one or two hundred yuan, but the downside is that you can’t be 100% sure you’ll get in. If you’re worried about messing up your schedule, it’s safest to buy tickets through official channels a day in advance!
🅿️ Parking guide (a must-see for money savers):
The park’s own parking lot charges 80 yuan per day, but if you enter after 11:30 am, it’s only 50 yuan. Early arrival means higher prices hhh
Opposite Yao Xue Ice and Snow World: plenty of parking spaces, 6 yuan per hour, capped at 48 yuan per day, much cheaper than the park
Songluo Road temporary parking lot: 30 yuan per day, about a 6-minute walk to the park, an acceptable distance
Yihao Oujing Community (highly recommended!): free parking! Just give a random apartment number when entering the community, like 79-302, the security usually won’t stop you. Then take a shared bike out, and it’s a five or six-minute ride to the park entrance, saving you the parking fee~
🦈 Must-try attractions & animal check-ins:
Don’t miss the star performances! Highly recommend the three main shows: Orca Legend, Dolphin Romance, and Sea Lion Haha Show~ If you’re short on time, choose the Sea Lion Haha Show, then pick either the orca or dolphin show, all are super exciting! There are also mermaid shows and Beluga Love for those who prefer something gentler, just pick according to your taste~
Animal watching is so healing! You can see penguins, polar bears, sharks, sea turtles, Arctic wolves, Arctic foxes, manatees, otters, and various colored jellyfish, corals, and tropical fish, as if you’ve entered a real underwater world~ You can pay to feed sea lions and seals, 60 yuan for a bucket of fish (about 8 pieces), watching them chase the fish is super cute! There’s also “Love in Deer Garden,” where you can feed alpacas, rabbits, and deer, and even feed big fat carp, kids will love it~
Free attractions are also very rich! Haunted house, volcanic rafting, roller coaster, 4D cinema, dome cinema, Ultraman theme pavilion, all free of extra charge~ The kids’ playground has drop towers, carousels, mini roller coasters, flying giant fish, suitable for kids or those who like cute rides. The cable car is paid, but if you want to overlook the park, give it a try~
Actually, there are so many attractions in the park that you can’t see them all. It’s recommended to focus on the ocean theme, watch more star performances and rare animals, so you don’t disappoint the “Ocean Park” setting~
🍜 Food tips to avoid pitfalls:
Honestly, I advise everyone not to eat casually in the park’s restaurants; most are expensive and taste bad! I recommend Burger King and Heytea, the taste is reliable and the cost performance is okay~ Every restaurant has warm water (no hot water), remember to bring your own cup to fill water and save money on drinks~
You can also bring some snacks yourself. They check bags at the entrance but only open them to take a quick look. Just hide the snacks well inside your bag, it works, tested personally!
⚠️ Play tips:
Be sure to follow the official WeChat account of Shanghai Haichang Park, which has the latest animal show schedules. Following the schedule helps you not miss any shows~
When it’s crowded, you need to queue at least half an hour in advance to watch shows, or you won’t get a seat and can only watch from the back~
If you want to sit in the front row for the orca or dolphin shows, be sure to bring a raincoat! You’ll get splashed, don’t ask me how I know😭
Ocean Park is just across the road from ski park. 1 day is enough to explore if you reach early. There are rides inside the ocean park. Use QR code and we can enter. Easy and convenient.
We went on the weekend and there is a celebration on the Halloween night. Is fun and enjoy able. We manage to watch most of the shows despite the crowds on weekend.
Haichang Ocean Park's December Sagittarius special offer: tickets for only 9.9 RMB! It's such a great deal! The weather was a bit chilly, but there weren't many people, so there were hardly any queues. We saw a lot of shows and went on many rides. It was truly excellent value for money. The evening lights were beautiful, and the staff were very attentive. I'll definitely come again next year. A wonderful weekend!
Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park is a theme park featuring marine culture, where more than 30,000 animals and marine creatures of different species live happily. The park is divided into five theme areas: Mermaid Bay, Polar Town, Ice and Snow Kingdom, Undersea Wonderland, and Ocean Tribe. There are multiple animal theaters distributed in different locations in the park. When you go to Haichang Park, the wonderful performances of the animals are worth seeing. You can find out the performance schedule of the day on the park's official account or mini program. In the major animal exhibition venues, many strange, beautiful and stunning marine creatures are eye-opening. If you catch up with performances such as "Ocean Dream Float Parade", it will be even more spectacular and amazing. The park also has various recreational experiences, such as volcanic drifting, dolphin roller coaster, time and space cable car, etc., which are very happy and thrilling. Next to the park, there are Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park Resort Hotel and other accommodations. The park provides a variety of catering services and a large parking lot.
Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park integrates marine life viewing, science education, and amusement facilities, suitable for families and ocean lovers. Must-see performances: Killer Whale Science Show: the only killer whale interactive show in China, raincoats are required for the front row; Beluga Love (Iceberg Arctic Pavilion): Beluga whales dance with trainers, romantic and beautiful; Dolphin Love (Dolphin Theater): a high-tech performance combining water curtains and music.
[Scenery] Very photogenic. [Fun] Various wonderful performances and children's entertainment [Value for money] Free in the Year of the Snake, focusing on value for money
I personally think it should be one of the best ocean parks in China. There are many performances and attractions in the park, and the time is very reasonable, so you can watch the next performance right after watching this one. I have to say that many of its features are ahead of other places. Moreover, the staff inside are very enthusiastic. If you have any questions, they can help you solve them in the first time! Very humane! Let's talk about the performances. They are very good and wonderful. The several must-see performances mentioned in my article must not be missed. There are several performances a day. If you miss one, there is another one. In short, my evaluation of it is perfect. If I have to say a shortcoming, the parking lot is a bit small. If you go late, you can only park in other places that are farther away, and you have to take a taxi to go there. I hope there will be more shuttle buses!
The children had a great time, the animal performances were very cute, the actors performed very well, the various introductions were very detailed, and the whole environment was a sea of joy.
