Recently came across various discount tickets for Haichang, so I bit the bullet, packed up, and took a trip to Lingang. Finally checked in at this ocean park I've been wanting to visit for a long time. 🚗 Transportation Recommendations: 🚇 Metro Line 16 - Lingang Avenue - Exit 4, then walk for 24 minutes or bike for about 10 minutes 🚘 For driving, just navigate directly to Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park 🚴 After getting off the metro, I rode a bike to the hotel to drop off my luggage, then took a taxi to the park. After visiting, I took a taxi back, both rides were just the starting fare. 🍜 About Food and Water: 🧊 Drinking Water: Bring as much as you want, no one checks. If you can, bring a few extra bottles of mineral water. 🍞 Food: Staff at the entrance will check, but not thoroughly. Food placed in the inner compartments of bags or at the bottom is not visible. I bought rice balls and sandwiches at FamilyMart near the entrance and got them in smoothly, also brought some small cookies. It's right opposite Wanxin, and kids love the penguin theme. It's perfect for family trips. We joined a group tour, three days and two nights including Haichang Ocean Park tickets, about 500 RMB per person, very cost-effective. Had a very hearty breakfast here. This hotel is a supporting hotel for Haichang Ocean Park. You can see penguins up close. There is a shuttle bus to Haichang Ocean Park. The new hotel is nicely decorated, and the penguin pool is a highlight. The children's playground has a tunnel that goes into the penguin pool. Anyway, I think bringing kids here for fun is a great experience. The service attitude is very good, the hotel is very luxurious, and the environment is excellent. We purchased a family package ticket via the Trip app, and entry required a passport and QR code. This process took about 20-30 minutes. Once inside the park, head to the Information desk on the left to scan a QR code using WeChat. This will provide the day's show schedule and a map for navigating the park. Haichang is vast, combining an aquarium and amusement park. To make the most of your visit, it's recommended to focus on the aquarium shows in the morning (killer whale and sea lion shows). Afterward, explore the area and have lunch there. Highlights include a One Piece-themed restaurant and a souvenir shop. Around 2 PM, move to the amusement park side to queue for rides and catch the final dolphin show before the park closes. For the killer whale show, queue up an hour before the show starts. For other shows, arriving 15-30 minutes early is sufficient. Seating tips: - Killer whale show: Choose middle-upper seats to avoid getting soaked, as even raincoats won't help much in the lower seats. - Dolphin show: Opt for lower seats on the left or right sides for a better view, as the opening act involves interaction with the audience.
