Shanghai Zoo is a great place to visit, especially for families and animal lovers. The zoo is spacious with plenty of greenery, making it feel more like a park than just an animal attraction. Many of the animals are well cared for, and there’s a good variety to see, including pandas, tigers, and elephants. The environment is generally clean and peaceful, which makes walking around enjoyable. It’s also affordable and easy to access by public transport. Some areas could use better signage and a bit more maintenance, but overall it’s a pleasant and worthwhile experience.
It was alright; not too crowded, but also not many animals, and there weren't many worth seeing. Aside from feeding time, they were mostly sleeping. And buying a ticket for the park's mini-train wasn't worth it; although it stops if you wave, it's almost always full, so it's better not to spend the money. The animals weren't very energetic, and many exhibited repetitive behaviors, basically just wandering around in circles.
It is highly recommended for those with children, because the Shanghai Zoo is quite large. If you are afraid of walking, you can take the white shuttle bus inside, which requires a ticket. You can see many animals. In winter, the Amphibian Pavilion is also recommended. It is an indoor venue with air conditioning. There are tropical pythons, poisonous snakes, tropical turtles, and many small goldfish, crocodiles, butterflies, etc. It is very good. In addition, there are slides for children to play in the zoo (free of charge), and amusement facilities (such as roller coasters, carousels, etc. require additional tickets)
Shanghai Zoo is amazing! There are a wide variety of animals, from majestic lions and tigers to cute giant pandas, as well as smart birds and cute little monkeys, which allow people to observe their living habits up close. The park is well greened, the environment is beautiful and comfortable, and it is refreshing to visit. The supporting facilities are also complete, the signboards are clear, and there are plenty of dining and rest areas. It is a good place for parents and children to play and relax.
I went to Shanghai Zoo with my colleagues and two children. My son had been here when he was a child. It has been 28 years now and I am old now. The children were very interested and went around to see any animals. They were full of curiosity and watched how and what they ate and how they swam. When they saw a place to feed pigeons 🕊, they immediately joined in. The pigeons 🕊 were not afraid of strangers and would eat the corn in their hands. We had a lot of fun.
It was sunny on the weekend. I would be sorry if I didn't go out for a walk on such a warm afternoon. Xijiao Park is also a childhood memory. I went there again this time. It is indeed the most suitable season in autumn. All the animals are full of energy. Whether it is the giraffes in the outdoor area, the giant pandas or the little penguins in the ice and snow museum, they are all very cute. I found many childhood memories.

The Chimpanzee Ecological Park provides these intelligent creatures with abundant activity space and toys. The Asian Elephant Ecological Park displays a rare three-generation Asian elephant family in domestic zoos, while the Giraffe Pavilion provides sufficient activity space and an outdoor activity field that simulates the natural environment. The Herbivore Ecological Park simulates the native environment of tropical herbivores, making visitors feel as if they are in the African animal world.
