M22***13M22***13The Slender West Lake in the rain has a unique charm. The poem "The wind blows, the clouds move, but the sky remains still; the water pushes, the boats move, but the shore remains still" kept echoing in my mind. The misty rain created a tranquil atmosphere; I was simply enjoying nature, appreciating the greenery, listening to the rain, and watching the black swans glide on the water. Everything felt peaceful and serene.

Shirley1016Shirley1016Ge Garden truly lives up to its reputation as one of the four most famous gardens in China. Although it's not large, the design of its pavilions and towers is classic and rivals that of Jiangnan gardens. Despite its small size, it's very meticulously designed. We happened to catch a tour group explaining its features, which allowed us to truly appreciate its exquisite details. The Taihu stone with the character "月" (moon), the glazed tiles, and the stone carvings depicting the four seasons—it must be even more beautiful in spring. Before leaving, you can pick up some Yangzhou University's famous yogurt from Dongguan Street to take home! 😉

ChencyChencyThe title of "First Garden of the Late Qing Dynasty" is well-deserved. Before entering, I thought it was just another typical Jiangnan garden, but once inside, I found it quite unique, especially the winding corridors and the U-shaped architecture. Wandering around in them was very interesting.

M16***54M16***54It was really great! The cruise ship had a fantastic feel to it, perfect for taking elderly people on trips. The overall design of the show, the light show, and the performances were all perfectly coordinated. 😄 It would be even better if the ticket price were a little cheaper! 👍🏻

linglizilingliziPassing through Yangzhou, I made a point of visiting the Grand Canal Museum of China. Located on the banks of the ancient Sanwan Grand Canal in Yangzhou, it's a national landmark exhibit showcasing the history, culture, and significance of the Grand Canal. Through a wealth of artifacts, immersive experiences, and high-tech interactive displays, the museum vividly showcases the canal's millennial splendor and the wisdom of everyday life, becoming a vital window into the canal's charm and Chinese civilization. The museum is excellent, but the parking lot is terrible, charging 6 yuan per hour, which meant it took two or three hours to explore.

无奈的鱼🐟无奈的鱼🐟The couple, having some free time, strolled through Yangzhou's ancient streets and alleys. Dongguan Street was a place they had visited many times; it offered a comprehensive experience in both cultural and commercial aspects. The area boasts national-level protected cultural relics such as Ge Garden and Wang's Garden, as well as historical sites like the former residence of Li Changle. Dongguan Street is also home to many famous snacks, the most delicious being Jianhu lotus root starch dumplings.

linglizilingliziThe Yangzhou Grand Canal Three Bends Scenic Area, situated on the banks of the ancient Grand Canal, is an extension of the Grand Canal near the Slender West Lake. Originally a series of sharp bends in the canal, it has been cleverly transformed, turning the engineering marvel of "three bends equaling one dam" into an ecological and cultural landscape. From its vantage point, one can view the iconic China Grand Canal Museum, with the Lingbo Bridge and Silhouette Bridge arching across the water like rainbows. Together with the wetland boardwalk and birdwatching huts, they form a beautiful picture of urban-canal coexistence, blending the ancient and modern, making it a model for showcasing the ecological civilization of the Grand Canal and the charm of Yangzhou's cultural tourism. Admission is free.

Kilo_wongKilo_wongAfter seeing the Huangchangticou (a type of burial chamber) at Dabaotai Han Tomb, I suddenly discovered in Yangzhou that there was also the Huangchangticou of Liu Xu, the King of Guangling, to see. I rushed over before closing time (less than two hours). These two underground palaces are not on their original sites; they were moved entirely from Shenjushan Mountain. Therefore, compared to the original Dabaotai Han Tomb, they are less interesting. First, you can't smell the cypress wood fragrance in the air; second, the underground palace is too dark, the lighting is poor, and it's hard on the eyes. Finally, the advantage is that the Huangchangticou structure is very complete, more so than the Dabaotai Han Tomb, making it more worthwhile to see. I suggest lowering the guided tour fee. ¥120 for three halls is really unnecessary. The third hall is a very superficial display of Yangzhou and Western Han history; it's very small, and whether you see it or not is really not important. The staff at the entrance were trying to persuade us to pay 120 yuan for a guided tour, saying we wouldn't understand without one. I really... We've seen everything from Maoling to Dabaotai to Mancheng Han Tombs, from vertical shaft tombs to cliff tombs. Isn't that a bit too arrogant?
