In October in Nyingchi, Namcha Barwa shows itself about 80% of the time, and the colorful forests blaze from both banks of the Parlung Tsangpo River all the way to the foot of the snow-capped peaks. But if you stake your entire autumn on Suosong Village, you might be a little disappointed. Suosong Village has become a large construction site—bare earth everywhere, the clatter of houses being built, roads being repaired across the whole village. Someone paid CNY 1,000 for a "view room" and found a dirt pit outside the window; if you plan to photograph the sun‑lit golden peaks, a utility pole or an excavator may crash into your frame first. You can still see Namcha Barwa's golden peak from Suosong Village, but enduring a construction site for the view shouldn't be the whole experience of coming to Nyingchi in autumn. Zhuxi Glacier is another option. Located inside Bodui Peach Blossom Valley, it is Bomi's representative maritime glacier; in autumn the glacier, colorful forests, and golden leaves appear in the same frame, and the scene is indeed magnificent. But the problem with Zhuxi Glacier isn't the scenery—it's the access. From Bomi town you must go deep into the valley and hike about 4 hours to reach the foot of the glacier, which is a high threshold for people who want an easy autumn view; and while Bodui Peach Blossom Valley isn't as crowded in autumn as it is in spring, it can't really be called "private" either. So my suggestion is to keep Suosong Village and Zhuxi Glacier on your list, but make Bomi your main base for autumn. Why Bomi is worth making a detour Bomi county seat is only 2,725m above sea level, a rare low‑altitude refuge from altitude sickness on the way into Tibet. The climate is moist and the vegetation lush, earning it the nickname the Jiangnan of eastern Tibet. In October in Bomi, the barley has just been harvested, both sides of National Highway 318 are golden, the colorful forests reach their peak, and the snow‑capped mountains are at their clearest all year. The key is that without a peach blossom festival crowding things, most valleys and glaciers don't even charge admission. Bomi's real treasures are hidden at the ends of the county roads that branch off National Highway 318. The places below are the ones I think are most worth spending time at in autumn. Langqiu Glacier is Bomi's gift to people who don't want to buy tickets. It's near Songzong Town—turn right off National Highway 318 into Langqiu Village, and the paved road is passable by sedan. Drive to the edge of the forest, then hike 1–2 hours and the glacier, golden forest, and the deep blue Demcuo Lake will appear together. Compared with the commercialization and crowds at Midui Glacier, Langqiu Glacier is so quiet it feels like you discovered it yourself. ⚠️ Before entering the village, it's polite and safer to register at the village committee. Baipulong Valley suits those willing to walk for a while. It's tucked deep in Yuxu Township—navigate to Baiyu Village from Bomi town, about a 1‑hour drive, but from Baiyu Village to the trailhead you need a high‑clearance 4WD or can take a villager's motorcycle for about CNY 300 per person. The hike is about 2 hours one way, rising from 3,000m to 4,000m, passing through primary forest, streams, and alpine pasture; at the end are a blue ice lake and a millennia‑old glacier. It's friendly to beginners, but wear hiking shoes and bring trekking poles, and start as early as possible. You need to pay a sanitation fee of CNY 100 per person at the village committee, and a guide fee of CNY 300. Garlang Lake is the easiest free hidden gem along National Highway 318 to overlook. It's about 17 km from Bomi town at roughly 2,700m elevation, newly rated a 4A attraction in 2025 but still free. The lake is as wide and open as a giant emerald on the ground; on sunny days you can photograph reflections of the snow peaks, forest, and Tibetan village. On the mountainside by the lake are the ruins of Garlang Palace, founded around AD 100—climb up for a lake view where history and autumn color overlap. Gangyun spruce forest was named one of China's 10 most beautiful forests by China National Geographic. It's about 22 km from the county town and the admission is about CNY 80 per person. The original spruces reach 70–80m in height and are 300–400 years old, with hanging lichens and dreamlike shafts of light. The classic Grass Lake loop is about 6 km round trip, the trail is gentle, and it's suitable for all ages. Enter from the Baka Village trailhead. In autumn Gangyun is quieter than Lulang, with golden spruces and green meadows interwoven and streams running through the woods—it’s the kind of place you walk into and don't want to leave. Gawalong is only a half‑hour drive from Bomi town, free admission, and no border permit required, tucked by the Zamei Highway. The alpine lake consists of three small lakes, with tea‑green, amber, and milky white waters. From late October to early November the colorful forests peak—reds, yellows, and oranges interlace with the snow mountains. The visitor center's second floor is a quiet place to sit and admire the snowy forest, and the afternoon light is best. How to connect these spots You don't need an overly complicated plan for Bomi. The core logic is: use Zamu Town in the county as your supply base, head in one direction each day, and return to town before dark. On day 1, after arriving in Bomi, don't rush off. Go to Gangyun spruce forest and walk the Grass Lake trail, a 2–3 hour easy hike to help your body adapt to the altitude and to settle into autumn's rhythm. On day 2 head toward Songzong Town for Langqiu Glacier, and on the way back in the afternoon stop by Garlang Lake to catch the reflections before sunset. On day 3, if you have the stamina, go to Baipulong Valley—it takes a full day; if you prefer something easier, go to Gawalong, a half‑hour drive and half a day is enough. If you can stay an extra day, head toward Guxiang Lake—the shore is free, Tibetan houses are scattered around, and the sunset on the lake is perfect for doing nothing but sitting. A few truly useful reminders Road conditions require more buffer than you might expect. There are occasional landslides on the Bomi section of National Highway 318, and the Bomi–Tongmai stretch deserves particular attention. In September 2026 the G349 section from Jiali toward Bomi recently lifted rockfall controls, but with recent continuous rain, slopes still pose sporadic rockfall risk. Check real‑time road conditions before you go and leave a half‑day to a full day of flexibility in your schedule. For transport, flying directly to Nyingchi and renting a car locally is the fastest combination. Picking up a car at Nyingchi Milin Airport saves you the four or five hour drive from Lhasa. If you're worried about altitude sickness, you can take the high‑speed train from Lhasa to Nyingchi, which takes 3.5 hours and lets you adapt gradually. Most of the county roads from Bomi town to the lesser‑known spots are reasonably passable, but deep valleys like Baipulong require a 4WD high‑clearance vehicle; you can charter a car locally or ask your guesthouse host to arrange one. Temperature swings in October can exceed 10°C between day and night. Daytime is 15–20°C, and nights can drop below 5°C. A windbreaker plus a light down jacket is standard; during daytime photos you can strip down to a sweater or long sleeve, but put it back on as soon as the sun sets. High‑altitude UV is unforgiving year‑round—SPF 50+ sunscreen, sunglasses, and a sun hat are essential. Don't be overly worried about altitude sickness in Bomi. The county town sits at about 2,700m, with a much friendlier oxygen level than Lhasa, and most people won't have obvious symptoms. Still, on your first day avoid strenuous activity and alcohol, drink plenty of water, and let your body quietly adjust overnight. One last thing: Bomi's autumn isn't for ticking boxes. Its charm is that you can stop your car at the end of a country road, open the door, and the golden forest and blue glacier are quietly there—no tour buses, no turnstiles, and no one pushing you to move on. Suosong Village's golden peak is worth seeing once, but Bomi's autumn is worth staying several days for.

I've put together a super practical 4-day self-drive itinerary for Nyingchi, covering both popular attractions and hidden gems. It includes real reviews on dining, accommodation, and road conditions, making it perfect for beginners to follow. Day 1: Basu to Lulang. You'll pass Ranwu Lake and Midui Glacier along the way. If you have time, explore them in depth; if you're in a rush, a quick stop at the entrance is enough. Arrive in Lulang in the evening and stay at the Lingsa Homestay within the village—it's quiet and authentic. The sunset at Zhaxigang Folk Village is stunning, and the evening bonfire creates a great atmosphere, full of Tibetan village charm. Day 2: In-depth tour of Lulang + Yarlung Tsangpo River. Start your morning with a great local Tibetan breakfast—the tsampa and highland barley cakes are authentic and delicious. Gongcuo Lake and the alpine pastures are free to visit and offer great value, with grasslands, forests, and snow-capped mountains all in one frame—perfect for photos. In the afternoon, head to the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon and stay at a hotel in Suosong Village. The location is excellent, offering unobstructed views of Namcha Barwa for a top-tier accommodation experience. Day 3: Grand Canyon + Basum Lake. Spend the day checking in at various viewing platforms along the Yarlung Tsangpo River to admire the majestic Namcha Barwa from multiple angles. Basum Lake, with its clear green water and lush vegetation, is a classic must-visit spot in Nyingchi. Stay overnight at the Gongbu Jingxuan Homestay in Jieba Village, which faces the lake and snow-capped mountains, offering a quiet and comfortable environment. Day 4: Hidden gem Bailang Valley to Shigatse. The road conditions in Bailang Valley are tough, with washboard roads and potholes throughout, so drive slowly and watch your undercarriage. However, the valley scenery is primitive and stunning. Hike 4 km to reach Pu Cuo Lake, which is pristine and uncommercialized, with scenery that far exceeds expectations. The entire trip is well-paced, with beautiful scenery and few crowds, making it perfect for an in-depth self-drive tour.

Nyingchi, Tibet 4 days 3 nights | Step into southern Tibet and chase Namcha Barwa's golden sunrise ✨ If this is your first time visiting Tibet, choose Nyingchi first. The average elevation is about 3,000m, so altitude sickness risk is lower. Snowy peaks, canyons, lakes, forests, and peach blossoms are all here, with a relaxed pace that suits families, friends, and first‑time visitors. 📅 Best times to go ▪️ Mar–Apr peach blossom season: snow mountains and wild peach blossoms together. Suosong village and Bomi Peach Blossom Valley are legendary. Accommodation prices rise, so be sure to book in advance ▪️ Jun–Aug summer: forests are lush and it's comfortable for cooling off. Niyang River's colorful forests are stunning, with fewer tourists and good value ▪️ Nov–Feb winter: fewer visitors and discounted tickets, snow mountains are clear, but high mountain passes can get snowed in and roads may close Where to stay ▫️ Bayi town (Nyingchi city center): convenient for transport and dining. If you just arrived in Nyingchi, stay here first to acclimate to the altitude ▫️ Suosong village: top choice for views of Namcha Barwa. Many guesthouses have terraces with direct views of the sunlit peak. Facilities are basic but the scenery is unbeatable ▫️ Lulang town: surrounded by forest meadows, great for relaxing. Stone pot chicken is easy to find Daily itinerary Day 1 Arrive in Nyingchi | Acclimate to altitude, stroll the valley Land at Milin airport or take the Lalin railway to Nyingchi station, then check in at Bayi town. ⚠️ Do not bathe or do strenuous activity right after arrival. Rest well to prevent altitude sickness ▫️ Afternoon: Niyang River scenic belt and Yani wetland park — emerald water, riverside meadows, wide views at the confluence of two rivers. Take a leisurely walk and photos ▫️ Evening: have Tibetan food in town and rest early Day 2 Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon – Suosong village | Wait for Namcha Barwa at sunset Spend the day heading to the canyon. Don't stay too long when taking photos, as dizziness and altitude sickness can occur ▫️ Descend to Lulang forest: spruce virgin forest, alpine meadows, Tibetan villages — a sea of green that feels like Switzerland ▫️ Must try: Lulang stone pot chicken, Medog stone pot stewed chicken with local herbs and matsutake mushrooms — the broth is savory and warming ▫️ Stay in Lulang or return to Bayi town for the night Day 4 Basong Tso | Emerald alpine lake, return ▫️ Visit the 5A scenic Basong Tso, whose water is a clear emerald blue. Walk to the island and visit Cuozong Gongba Monastery, stroll along the lakeshore. If you're fit, try the Xinco light hike for a secluded feel ▫️ After touring, return according to your flight or train schedule 🍲 Must-try foods ✅ Lulang stone pot chicken: a must in Nyingchi, drink the soup ✅ Tibetan pork: delicious roasted or stewed ✅ Butter tea and barley pancake: eat together to relieve highland dryness ✅ Yak meat hot pot: very comforting when it's cold ✅ Tibetan yogurt, even better with honey Travel tips and pitfalls to avoid 1. Altitude sickness: Nyingchi's overall altitude is friendly, but mountain passes are high. Bring oral glucose solution; oxygen cylinders are cheaper at city pharmacies, while scenic areas charge high prices. In the 2 days before arrival, avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise, and drink plenty of warm water 2. Transport: attractions are far apart, so relying only on public transport is not recommended. Prioritize hiring a private car or self-driving. Roads have many curves; watch for falling rocks in the rainy season, and avoid driving mountain roads at night 3. What to wear: dress in layers year-round — quick‑dry base layer + fleece + shell or light down jacket. Day‑night temperature differences are huge, and passes can be very cold even in summer. SPF50+ sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and lip balm are essential — you can get sunburned on cloudy highland days 4. Documents: carry your ID card. To visit Medog or Zayu, apply for a border pass in advance; it's free to apply at your household registration office 5. Customs: do not step on temple thresholds, do not take pictures of locals without permission, and respect Tibetan customs 6. Seeing Namcha Barwa requires a calm mindset — cloud cover is common, so don't let not seeing it affect your trip. Be cautious about low‑price shopping tour groups

More than just Xin Tso | Basong Tso's Cuogao Ancient Village, the scenery most people miss. Many people come to Basong Tso and only have eyes for Xin Tso. They head back after seeing Xin Tso, missing out on the valley landscape that is Cuogao Ancient Village. Snow-capped mountains stretch out before you, with clouds wrapping around the mountainsides. A tributary of the Parlung Tsangpo River winds through the grasslands, and Tibetan-style villages sit quietly in the valley. From an aerial perspective, farmland, rivers, forests, and sharp peaks all appear in the same frame. You don't need to hike far to see the most healing panoramic view of the mountains and rivers in Eastern Tibet. ✅ Travel tips 📍 Location: Basong Tso - Cuogao Ancient Village 🚗 Transport: Accessible by car within the Basong Tso scenic area, not far from Lake Center Island 📸 Best photo spot: Aerial shot near the village entrance (the same angle as this photo) ⏰ Recommended time: Morning, when clouds are more likely to appear and the light is soft 💡 Tips 1. Cuogao Ancient Village is located within the main Basong Tso scenic area, so there is no need for extra long-distance travel. 2. Xin Tso is a secret forest stream, while Cuogao Ancient Village offers a panoramic view of the valley and snow-capped mountains. The styles are completely different, so we recommend visiting both. 3. The village is quiet. Please try not to make loud noises when taking photos and respect the lives of the local villagers. The beauty of Basong Tso has more than one look. There is no need to just chase internet-famous check-in spots. Slow down and take a look at the ancient village in the valley.

Thanks to Wang Yibo! I rarely use the word "breathtaking" to describe a place! 🧊 Everyone! I was absolutely blown away by Ranwu Lake on National Highway 318! It's a hidden gem in eastern Tibet—the water is a mesmerizing blue, the snow-capped mountains reflect like a painting, and it's truly a real-life paradise on earth! Here is my tried-and-tested, concise guide. If you're planning a trip to Tibet, just copy this itinerary! 🌍 Geography 101 Ranwu Lake is located in Basu County, Qamdo, Tibet, at an altitude of 3,850 meters. It is the main source of the Parlung Tsangpo River. Formed by a landslide that blocked the river, the lake stretches over 20 km, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, offering vast and healing views. ✨ 3 must-visit spots 1️⃣ Upper Ranwu Lake Observation Deck Early morning is the golden hour! Mist drifts over the lake, the water is crystal clear like a mirror, perfectly reflecting the Laigu Glacier. I recommend using a telephoto lens to capture the snow-capped mountains and blue lake in one frame—it's clean and photogenic. 2️⃣ Middle Ranwu Lake Pasture A super healing grassland spot 🐑. Cattle and sheep graze leisurely everywhere, creating a perfect atmosphere. Especially in November, the golden grass contrasts with the turquoise lake, creating beautiful color layers and a full autumn vibe. 3️⃣ Lower Ranwu Lake Secret Spot Navigate to Kangsha Village, and you can reach it after a 20-minute drive on a dirt road! Almost zero tourists, enjoy the quiet lake view all to yourself, away from the crowds and noise—perfect for relaxing and taking photos. 🚗 Transportation guide Route: Nyingchi → Bomi → Ranwu, about a 6-hour drive. Self-driving or hiring a car is recommended; this section of the 318 is very easy to drive. ⚠️ In November, the road surface is prone to icing, so be sure to carry snow chains and drive slowly for safety. 🏡 Accommodation recommendation The Tibetan-style homestay by Ranwu Lake is the top choice! Great value for money, about CNY 150 per person 💰. The rooms face the snow-capped mountains directly; you can see the sunlit peaks when you open the window, and enjoy the plateau scenery while lying in bed. 🍵 Food experience You must try the yak hot pot on the plateau 🍲. It warms the stomach and helps with altitude sickness, and the meat is tender. Pair it with butter tea and highland barley pancakes for an authentic Tibetan taste. Ama Kitchen in town is popular with locals; the taste is authentic and won't disappoint. 📅 3-day concise itinerary Day 1: Arrive in Ranwu → Check in at Upper Ranwu Lake Observation Deck → Check in to lakeside homestay and rest Day 2: Hike at Middle Ranwu Lake Pasture → Wander around Lower Ranwu Lake secret spot → Experience a Tibetan home visit Day 3: Day trip to Laigu Glacier (optional) 💡 Travel tips ① In November, the temperature difference between day and night is huge, so a down jacket + thermal underwear is a must ② The plateau is extremely dry, so be sure to bring moisturizer, lip balm ③ Prepare glucose oral liquid to easily prevent altitude sickness ④ Respect local customs: do not take photos of Tibetan people without permission, and do not touch prayer flags Standing by Ranwu Lake, even the wind feels gentle ✨ No crowds or noise from viral tourist spots, just pure scenery composed of snow-capped mountains, blue lakes, and white clouds. A top-tier gift from nature—before the heavy snow closes the mountains, come and experience this visual feast in eastern Tibet!

If you know, you know. Following Hu Ge's recommendation to Medog, I finally understood what it means to have your "body in hell, eyes in heaven." This was once the last county in China to be connected by road and is known as one of the "hardest places to reach in the world." Its Tibetan name means "hidden lotus." In a single day, you can travel from the glaciers of Galongla Mountain down to the tropical rainforests along the Yarlung Tsangpo River. You'll swap your winter coat for a short-sleeved shirt, seeing snow-capped mountains alongside banana trees—it's more surreal in reality than in any documentary. 🚗 A trip to Medog is a journey through time Driving the Zhamo Highway from Bomi, the 117 km trip takes 4–5 hours. Entry is allowed on even-numbered days and exit on odd-numbered days. Remember to apply for a border permit in advance (fill in "Medog County, Nyingchi City"). The rainy season from June to August brings frequent landslides, so avoid it if you can. May (for rhododendrons) and October (for autumn colors) are the most reliable times to visit. 🌿 Breathtaking moments you can't miss Galongla Tunnel entrance: Snow at the north entrance and rainforest at the south; travel through four seasons in 3 km. Guoguotang Great Bend: The Yarlung Tsangpo River forms a giant "Ω." The mist is most ethereal before 10:00 AM—it's legendary for drone photography. Gelin Village Observation Deck: Fewer crowds than Suosong Village. If you're lucky, you can see the golden sunrise on Namcha Barwa peak alongside Bhutan pines. Mirage Observation Deck: In the early morning, the sea of clouds surges, making the county town look like it's floating on a lotus pedestal. Renqinbeng Temple: The oldest temple in Medog and the prototype for the setting in "Zang Hai Hua." Take a slow walk around the mountain for an incredible atmosphere. 🍲 Medog on the tip of your tongue Start with a bowl of soup from the soapstone pot stewed with matsutake mushrooms and Tibetan chicken—the same one Hu Ge had. The Monpa people's chicken claw millet wine tastes best when drunk from a bamboo tube. For CNY 5, you can get a rainforest lemon by the roadside; slice it up and soak it in water—it's the perfect palate cleanser. ⚠️ Survival tips Most sections outside the county town have no signal, so be sure to have a satellite phone or offline maps ready. Don't force your way through the 80K water crossing if it's deeper than 30 cm. The section from K52 to K67 is cliffside with no guardrails, so keep a distance of 50m+ between vehicles. There are four seasons on one mountain, so bring a down jacket, sunscreen, and snow chains. Some villages only accept cash, so carry some with you. This road is difficult, but the moment you stand at the Guoguotang windy pass and watch the great river curve around the emerald island while clouds pour from the snow-capped mountains into the rainforest, you'll suddenly understand what Hu Ge meant: "It's breathtaking and so worth it." You have to visit Medog at least once in your life to see the hardest-to-reach lotus.

Topics: Location: Nyingchi Last March, I made a last-minute decision to visit Tibet, and my colleagues all advised me to go to Lhasa first to acclimate for a few days. I looked through some information and booked a flight directly to Nyingchi instead. Many people don't know that Nyingchi is the lowest-altitude place in Tibet, averaging 3,100 meters, which is a few hundred meters lower than Lhasa. Having worked in physical therapy for so many years, I understand altitude acclimation very well; gradual adjustment is much more effective than just toughing it out. Entering Tibet through the lower altitude of Nyingchi allows the body to adapt slowly, making it much more comfortable when traveling to higher elevations later. The Nyingchi Peach Blossom Festival runs from late March to mid-April, and I've been twice during this time. Gala Peach Blossom Village is the main venue; the opening ceremony is lively, and the peach blossoms are dense. Personally, however, I prefer the Bomi Peach Blossom Valley, where you can see peach blossoms and glaciers in the same frame—it's much more picturesque. Suosong Village in Mainling is also nice; if you stay at a hotel in the village, you can open your curtains to see Mount Namjagbarwa framed by peach blossoms. The only downside is that hotel prices spike during the festival; when I went the second time, I booked two weeks in advance and still paid nearly CNY 800 a night. If you're on a budget, finding a homestay around Gala Village is more cost-effective, and it's only a 20-minute drive away in the morning. From May to August, the average temperature in Nyingchi is only 16°C, and when I went last July, I still felt chilly wearing a jacket at night. The Lulang Forest is incredibly comfortable in the summer; the vegetation is lush and the oxygen levels are high, making it very friendly for people coming straight from the plains. Gang Spruce Forest is suitable for light hiking, and a 2–3 hour walk won't be too tiring. I didn't get to experience the Lhoba culture in Nanyi Valley in depth, but the primeval forests and meadows in the valley are truly a sight to behold. This season is also when matsutake mushrooms emerge. I once went into the mountains with local Tibetans to pick them, and back at the homestay, we made matsutake chicken stew—it was incredibly fresh and delicious. September to October is the time to see the colorful forests, with the banks of the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon interweaving gold and red. When I went in early October, I happened to catch a glimpse of Mount Namjagbarwa. This peak is hidden in the clouds year-round and is known as the "Shy Maiden Peak," with less than a 30% chance of seeing the full view. Basum Lake is a photographer's paradise in the autumn. I brought my camera, but the battery drained rapidly in the low temperatures, leaving me with only one bar of power after 2 hours of shooting. I recommend bringing extra batteries or wrapping the camera in a thermal cover. Many people are confused about the border permit; it took me two trips to get it sorted. You don't apply at the local police station; you need to go to the household registration office of the Public Security Bureau in your registered place of residence. Bring your ID card and two one-inch photos; it's processed and issued on the spot for free. Within Nyingchi, the areas that require a border permit are mainly Mainling County, Jindong Township in Lang County, and parts of Zayu County and Medog County. If you are only visiting standard attractions like Nyingchi city, Bomi, or Lulang, you don't actually need one. I suggest planning your route before you leave and deciding whether you need to apply based on whether you'll be visiting border areas, so you don't waste a trip. There is another policy that many people don't know about. Starting in mid-October every year, the "Winter Tourism in Tibet" campaign offers free admission to state-owned 3A-rated scenic spots and above, and half-price admission to those below 3A and non-state-owned scenic spots. I went in November the year before last; I got into the Potala Palace for free, and Basum Lake was also free, saving me nearly CNY 300 in admission fees. It is cold in winter, with temperatures dropping below freezing in the morning and evening, but it's fine during the day when the sun is out. As long as you dress warmly, it's perfectly fine. The road conditions in Nyingchi are much better than I imagined; the vast majority are paved roads. I rented an SUV to drive the stretch from Bomi to Lulang; the road is narrow but smooth, and even a beginner can drive it. However, landslides are frequent during the rainy season, so if you go in July or August, I recommend checking the weather and road conditions in advance. Safety first. Ultimately, what attracts me most to Nyingchi isn't any single attraction, but the fact that it makes visiting Tibet less intimidating. With its lower altitude, good road conditions, and complete facilities, it's a low-barrier entry point to Tibet for someone like me who needs to balance work and travel. By my third trip, I didn't even need to take Rhodiola rosea in advance; I started playing as soon as I landed, with no physical discomfort at all. But there is one question I still haven't figured out. Nyingchi is becoming increasingly popular; during the Peach Blossom Festival, hotel prices in Suosong Village double or triple, and homestays that usually cost CNY 200–300 rise to over CNY 1,000. I haven't found the answer to whether this seasonal price surge is a good thing or a bad thing for the locals. What do you think?

First of all, don't ride a horse when you go to Midui. Don't ride a horse. Don't ride a horse. Don't ride a horse. I'll say it three times. Reasons: First, the walking path is only 1.5 kilometers. Although the altitude is 3,900, the walking route is full of ancient forests. There is plenty of oxygen. Basically, you don't have to worry about altitude sickness. You can walk and stop and have fun. It's very easy to walk to the viewing platform. When I went there, even the old men and women in the sunset group who took the scenic area car walked to the viewing platform. Second, the round-trip price of horse riding is 100 per person. If you take another route, you will miss the scenery on the walking path. And it will limit your time to take pictures at the viewing platform. In addition, the horses are very dirty, not to mention the smell. Third, and most importantly, you can't choose the horse. You have to ride whatever is brought to you. There is no choice. Basically, 90% of the horses are pitifully thin. Those who want to take pictures on horseback advise you to give up this idea. And the local Tibetans who lead horses are extremely arrogant and bad, and even pull you. Because of this personal experience, I chose to walk. Now it seems to be a very correct choice, so I don't want to ruin the good mood of the trip, I advise you to get off the scenic area bus and go straight to the walking path. As for the scenery of Midui Glacier, I personally feel it is worth it. In addition, let's talk about the walking time. Three hours is enough for walking, stopping, taking photos, resting, taking photos at the viewing platform, and taking aerial photos. Don't worry about altitude sickness. I took my 70-year-old mother who has basic diseases such as hypertension and coronary heart disease, and she walked to the viewing platform easily. So finally, I advise you again, stay away from the horses in Midui and those villagers who are trying to cheat you out of money.
M47***57It is known as the most beautiful primeval forest in China and a natural oxygen bar. It is very pleasant to walk in it. There is a lake in the forest - Caohu Lake. It is not large but the water is clear, reflecting the snow-capped mountains, blue sky and white clouds, which is beautiful.
Guxiang Lake Scenic Area is next to National Highway 318. There is a double-decker viewing platform, which is free for viewing. The lake is colorful, with snow-capped mountains in the distance and dense forests on the lakeshore. It is really a very beautiful scene. Looking at the snow-capped mountains, forests, and lakes, you can feel your soul being cleansed, which not only relieves stress, but also makes your mind open.
西单大叔Gawaron in winter is a completely different scene! If you like snow scenery, this place is definitely worth a visit - the whole mountain forest is covered with silver, and the branches are covered with rime, like walking into a fairy tale world of ice and snow. There are much fewer people than in summer, and it is especially quiet. Stepping on the snow makes a creaking sound, and you don’t have to worry about passers-by breaking in when taking pictures. However, there are many things to pay attention to in winter: First of all, the mountain roads may be icy. If you drive by yourself, it is best to install anti-skid chains, or it is safer to take the scenic bus directly. The temperature is very low, especially in the morning and evening. Down jackets, hats, and gloves must be prepared. Mobile phones and camera batteries are also easy to freeze out of power. Remember to stick a warm baby. Some attractions and trails will be closed due to snow accumulation, and the range of play is smaller than in summer. If you catch a heavy snow, you can't see anything when the fog is heavy. It is best to check the weather before going. There are few places to sell food in the scenic area. It is recommended to bring your own thermos cup and dry food. In general, Gawaron in winter is suitable for tourists who like quietness and are not afraid of cold. The snow scenery is really beautiful, but the supporting facilities are indeed not as convenient as in the peak season, so you have to be mentally prepared! But it is really fun! ! (From a southerner who likes to play in the snow⛄️)
M30***34The Garang Lake Scenic Area in Bomi County is also known as Garang National Wetland Park. The beautiful Garang Lake is like a fairyland. The lake is surrounded by mountains, and there are many fish in the lake. The spruce and giant cypress are lush and green, creating a natural feature of lakes, glaciers, and primeval forests. It is said that more than 100 years ago, the Garang Dynasty was located in the Garang Lake area of Garang Village, and it lasted for 53 generations. It is surrounded by green mountains, towering ancient trees, beautiful natural scenery, and unique residential architectural style. It is said that the descendants of King Garang still live here.
格格巴The scenery is particularly beautiful, with emerald green and flocks of white sheep everywhere. Wherever you walk, it looks like the endless green carpet is embroidered with large white flowers.
湮灭·归墟It feels great! I stayed here for an hour on the way to Medog
蒋文森VincentA scenic spot on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway 318 that you must pass to get to Bomi. In the past, if a car wanted to pass through, the large trucks had to unload the empty trucks and cross the other side, and then load the trucks again on the other side. The iron cable bridge could not bear such heavy trucks, so it was the only way. Now that the new bridge has been opened, the original iron cable bridge has become a scenic spot.
锴kai10On the world-famous Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, there is a green channel that stretches southeastward along the Brahmaputra River-Yarlung Zangbo River Valley. The river passes through the valley bottoms of two high mountains with an altitude of more than 6,000 meters, and forms a peculiar U-shaped bend around Mount Namjagbarwa. The mountains are high and the valleys are deep, and the water flows rapidly. The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is the largest water vapor channel on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. According to the conclusions drawn from scientific investigations, the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon was formed by the movement of the Himalayas and the erosion of the river. The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is not only ranked first in the world's canyons for its depth and width, but also attracts the attention of scientists around the world for its rich scientific content and valuable resources. The world's largest precipitation belt is distributed in the Brahmaputra River-Yarlung Zangbo River Basin. The world's northernmost tropical climate zone and natural zone are distributed in the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon; therefore, this is the most ideal field laboratory for the study of mesosphere coupling in the Earth system.
chenweiwenThe standard currency in Bome is CNY
Current exchange rate approx.: RUB ≈0.08CNY (actual exchange rates depend on the bank). Currency exchange tips:
1. Exchange currency at your local bank before departure, as rates are usually better than at the destination.
2. You can also withdraw cash from local ATMs.
3. Avoid exchanging currency at airports or hotels, as they offer the worst rates.
