The other day, we drove through Kegalle on our way to Sigirya. It was a beautiful place to break up the journey. Driving through the twisty tropical roads through palm tree forests and the reflective surfaces of nearby ponds.

But the highlight? Of course, the Grand Walawwa Hotel. An oasis overlooking the busy town of Kegalle - the hotel is a the definition of luxury and comfort.

From the moment you drive in, the winding pathway takes you up to the beautiful property. The white mansion is luxurious but tastefully done. The dark wooden furniture creates a cozy feel. The lush greenery invokes calm.

And look no further than the hotel's restaurant for a meal. We had a fantastic dinner from their Indian Kitchen.
