The atmosphere created a relaxed feeling and the staff were extremely welcoming. From the moment I walked in I felt calm and welcomed. The overall first impression was of quality and its location at the foot of the hills by the river added to the feeling of calm. I climbed Machu Pichu over two days using 2 routes, one more demanding (1) the other (3) less so, although neither were really challenging but the scenery is breathtaking. The mountains were shrouded just at their summit with a thin layer of cloud making the view really quite ethereal, inspiring me to spend time capturing a picture to frame when I return home. The room was well appointed with a super view of the river, it's so nice to hear the water rushing. The hotel and my room were super clean and well maintained. The room safe worked as expected and the bathroom was very good. All was quiet except for the river, but that was so nice to listen to whilst falling asleep. I visited the spa area to relax and found the various options super and the spa manager Mary was particularly helpful and welcoming. All in all a delightful visit.

The setting, across from the river, was incredible and we were within walking distance of everything, including the train station. (Of course we sent our bags ahead.) We arrived early and we were greeted with drinks and warm hand towels. The room was spacious and had everything we needed including coffee, tea, and hygiene items. Do note that the shower had a big step over in order to get into it. The dinner service was absolutely amazing. The staff was very attentive and helpful and the breakfast buffet had lots of healthy choices.

Jorge gave a great demonstration of preparing Sumaq ceviche. I have never liked ceviche but this was excellent. Jorge was very professional and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed his contribution to our evening.

We absolutely loved this hotel. The staff are all very welcoming and most speak fantastic English (not a given in Peru) and will also help with not so great Spanish! The welcome at the station was very warm and immediately you felt looked after with luggage portered and placed in your room. It is close to the bus stops and the town so great access to Machu Picchu and to wander the shops, markets and restaurants of Aguas Calientes, which is a lovely little town to visit in its own right. The hotel is warm, bright, comfortable and very well appointed. The bar is well stocked and the food is fantastic. We ate dinner and breakfast and both were superb. The restaurant had both a gluten free and lactose free menu (first for our trip) and everyone was very well versed in food allergies etc. More than that, they were extremely accommodating. Last but not least - the view and sound of the river outside your window is completely mesmerising. We were even greeted by a hummingbird in the tree outside our window this morning! One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in and I have stayed in world renowned ones - this has its own lovely charm and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

Nice boutique hotel, good for short trips to Machu Picchu, restaurant has great and tasty local cuisine, breakfast was good, rooms bathrooms are ok but outdated and in need of an upgrade. The train was hardly if at all to be heard, as other guests complained.

We stopped at the hotel Sumac to get lunch and some drinks. Cesar made us the four best cocktails we had in all of Peru. after getting a little bit tipsy, we headed upstairs for lunch, which was à la carte and perfection. Cesar was nice enough to bring us the recipe book for how the cocktails are made so that I can make them at home. 10 out of 10 make a stop here if you are in Aguas Calientes.

Mary was so great! Let's just saw I was broken after horseback riding and she fixed me up where I felt very at to hike Machu Pichu the next morning no problem. The service was impeccable!!! El mejor servicio no se lo pierdan!
