Ria Park Hotel & Spa

I have been staying at another hotel in the area a few times each year for the past 3 years,  however having been asked twice at checkout for a tip from the front office staff, I was simply appalled and decided to check out Ria Park.  An absolutely fantastic of hotel and extremely worthy of its five star.  From the concierge to the front of house, waiting and housekeeping staff and pool service… Myself and both of my daughters (in theur20’s)  had an absolutely wonderful time and plan to return again very  soon.

Very good hotel in Vale de Lobo. It has a nice pool area. Older style building but everything so clean, spacious, large comfortable bed, powerful shower and good aircon. 10/15 min walk to the beach and beach bars. Booked via BA holidays. We would return.

Below is a complaint I have written to the hotel and have no response, I am now writing on here to save anyone from experiencing the same thing. I am writing to express my deep disappointment and serious concerns following my recent stay at Ria Park Hotel and Spa from 15-24 September. What was meant to be a relaxing and rejuvenating escape turned into a distressing experience due to the consistent failure of your hotel to deliver the standards and services advertised. From the outset, I was checked into a room that was excessively noisy, leading to multiple nights of severe sleep deprivation. Although I was eventually moved, I was falsely accused of attempting to secure an upgrade – an accusation that is completely baseless and, frankly, offensive. This incident set the tone for a stay that consistently failed to meet even the most basic expectations. Additional issues included: Rooms that were outdated, unclean, and poorly maintained, not remotely in line with the 5-star quality advertised. Key amenities missing or non-functional, including a spa with no water and water tanks that were never filled throughout the property. In-room tea and coffee, which were listed as standard, were not provided unless specifically requested. The hotel shop, which was advertised as open during set hours, remained closed during my visit, again breaching what was promised at the time of booking. Unprofessional and unhelpful staff, with multiple requests being ignored or met with rude and dismissive attitudes. Most concerning, however, was the impact on my mental health during the stay. The lack of sleep, constant stress, and repeated disappointments left me feeling emotionally drained, fatigued, and deeply saddened. Instead of providing rest and relaxation – the very reason I booked your hotel – the stay had the opposite effect, significantly affecting my wellbeing. I raised these issues repeatedly with managers during my stay and was ignored each time. This ongoing dismissal of my concerns has left me with no choice but to seek legal advice, which I have already done. It is my firm position that your hotel has committed a clear breach of contract, having failed to provide the services and standards that were promised at the time of booking. At this point, I am requesting the following: A formal written response addressing each of the points raised above. An appropriate offer of compensation for the distress, inconvenience, and failure to deliver contracted services. Immediate steps taken to review the conduct and service levels of your staff and the false accusation made against me. Please note that if I do not receive a satisfactory resolution within [7/14] days, I will have no choice but to proceed with formal legal action. I hope this matter is finally taken seriously.

I was staying at Hotel Ria Park & Spa in the Algarve for a week in October this year. I was allocated that hotel by 5 Star Tennis Holidays and had a great week, playing tennis with a small group of people. Unfortunately, at about 10:30pm on my last night, one of the barmen in the lobby bar (he wore no name badge) was very aggressive towards me. His angry demeanour compelled me to leave the bar with my friend and go to my room immediately. I then barricaded the door using some chairs and my suitcase rack. As a lone woman in a foreign country, I felt frightened. The next day, I reported the situation to the only manager in the hotel at that time, the female breakfast area manager. She apologised that there were no managers in the hotel at that time, but said she would report everything I had relayed to her. A young, female guest, not connected with my tennis group saw what had happened the night before and corroborated my story to the breakfast manager. That was a week ago and no-one at Ria Park Hotel & Spa has been in contact with me. I also gave full details of the abuse to 5 Star Tennis Holidays.

We had a fabulous short break at this hotel, breakfast excellent choices galore. Lunchtime menu excellent . Sangria lovely . Wines stunning . Pool towels included. Pool area lush clean and pool was ace . Rooms are great and cleaned daily . Highly recommend a stay here .
