This was our second stay, first being in 2018, and this time we stayed on the Diwali night with my aged mother so we were 4 adults. We had booked Maharani Durbar Mahal in Rani Mahal, but aftter seeing my mother facing difficulties to climb the steps to access the room, the courteous staff suggested we change to Laxmi Mahal with an extra bed, which was far more suitable. The room has a huge balcony overlooking the expansive grounds with palm trees. There was a puja for Diwali and we enjoyed the pottery session at the evening sundowner. The food menu has definitely improved since 2018, which is a great thing. We used services of a cab provider, recommended from hotel. The drivers were excellent. All the staff were examples of Rajsthani hospitality. There was a cultural program - Rajasthani dances in the evening, which I felt was same like it was in 2018. The Laxmi Mahal room was a unique experience, with thickness of its wall more than a full arm's length, the single bed under a turret was particularly cosy, the bathroom was uniquely designed with a hanging light at the center over the shower area, whereas each of four walls were carved uniformly in cartouches. The room opens to a huge blacony at the back. At the front of the room is a small square green patch. In the afternoon, there was a small heritage tour highlighting the careful restoration done under the guidance of Mr Aman Nath, whom we were lucky to see at a distance during our stay. Things we liked: - Better menu at bfast and dinner -Rajasthani hospitality -Room suggestions and decorations Things that can be improved: -Though the room was changed for our benefits, the second room was of lesser price range but the charges were not adjusted down. Maybe a bit of explanation transparently would have helped. -Cultural program can be changed, not sure if the same are being held every day. -For big festivals like Diwali, some personal touch to reach out to each guest with sweets/small tokens as memory etc would have been great -In house photography team to hire for 30 min at reasonable cost would add to the attractions -food portions at lunch a la carte were too less -the lift chair at the restaurant was not effective as its height was not low enough, so guest has to climb up or down to sit on the chair, which defeats the whole purpose. It is a thing for people who cannot climb.

One of the best getaway near Delhi ncr with a with a touch of royalty and heritage. Expansive views and hospitality is top notch. Most of the rooms are actually part of the history and food served is a chefs kiss. Our check in process was super smooth and we were welcomed with utmost warmth by Rajesh and his team and made sure we have the best time.
