Secrets Royal Beach

We booked this hotel about a year ago to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We’d previously visited Secrets Cap Cana in 2022 and figured SRB might be similar which in some respects it was. However, SCC was my favourite out of the two. We arrived mid afternoon after absolute chaos trying to find our TUI transfer at the airport. The glass of fizz on arrival was most welcoming. After reading reviews we were prepared for the upsell of the preferred package but were just asked if this was something we might be interested in. On replying no, we weren’t asked again. We were taken to our room by our butler who wrote his name and number down for us in the event we might need his services. On the one occasion we did, we couldn’t get hold of him and didn’t see him until we left 10 days later! The room was spacious with plenty of storage for our clothes. We had a tropical view and a high room so overlooked the tree canopy. Had we had a lower room I can imagine this might have been quite dark. The room was cleaned daily, although not to standards we’d experienced in other hotels (despite leaving tips), one day this wasn’t done until 17:30, and while the hotel app shows turndown service is a daily thing, unless your dnd sign is in the door, we never had turndown! We tried El Patio and Bordeaux restaurants but preferred the buffet. On two days we used the Barefoot Grill on the beach which was nice. Restaurant and bar staff were great and special mention goes to Alexander in Rendevouz and Aris, Miguel and Alex in the Showtime bar. All staff work long hours and all deserve a little extra in the way of tipping. Evening shows were ok, but no air con so would have maybe enjoyed more if it wasn’t so hot and humid. The main pool was always busy and very loud and so we chose the quiet pool. Some days we couldn’t get a bed by the quiet pool, so would spend the day at the beach. Always plenty of beach beds and a polite ‘no thank you’ to the beach vendors was all that was needed. The excursion team that patrolled the beach weren’t just trying to promote excursions either! Again, a polite no thank you was enough, and they were a friendly bunch that liked the banter. The beach is just beautiful and the sea is so warm. The seaweed was minimal and if it does build up this is removed with the tractor. All in all we enjoyed our holiday but would we return, probably no.

Wonderful experience. Staff was amazing, food and service was great. Entertainment was good. Only complaint was the smell of the rooms.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The room was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The meals were outstanding—definitely one of the highlights of my stay! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. We definitely be coming back! Resort was beautiful! The beach was clean. Staff goes above and beyond! The food was good and had plenty of options. We had a great time.

This was my second time staying at this resort and it was 10/10 experience. The resort itself is so pretty. We mostly stayed in the preferred lazy river area because it’s so nice and our service from Rosana was top tier. We did walk over to the main pool for activities though. Honorable mention for 3 members of the entertainment staff: Golden Boy, Chicken and Nova. They made our vacation so fun! Between the daily activities, accompanying us at the nightly shows and teaching us how to dance, we had a blast! Special shoutout to our butler, Julio. He is the best. Very responsive, helpful and friendly. Can’t wait to come back!
