Interesting hotel as it’s the base for England football. Lots of references, pictures, trophies etc. Not really somewhere you’d stay unless specifically for an event there.

Stayed here overnight as a base for Alton Towers. Generally a good place to stay. Few minor issues such as peeling wallpaper, dirty hair dryer, broken mirror in bathroom, marks on walls. Breakfast was good. Room was nice size. Used the swimming pool which is included

We have recently returned from a two night stay with 2 Adults and 2 children aged 10 and 12. The hotel and staff were amazing from start to finish. The grounds were lovely, well maintained and it was wonderful to walk around. Parking was really easy with lots of places to park. The boys were able to have a free pitch and play football which they thoroughly enjoyed, The pool facilities were excellent, nice and clean and the refreshment area with tea, coffee and juice was a nice touch for after the swim. The breakfast was the best I’d ever seen, so much choice and the staff were quick to assist when I asked for some pancakes that had ran out for my son. Overall a really good stay…however if I could fault one area it would have to be the room. We had a lovely view overlooking the car park and pitches however we booked via ******* and the only option was a standard room. This room was very tiny and cramped, we struggled for space. It had a double bed and a small sofa bed which had been made into a double. Because the sofa bed was made up there was hardly any floor space, therefore we had to take turns to stand up! This room was also no way accommodated for families as we had two hooks in the bathroom so nowhere to place all of our wet towels or wet swim wear. Overall a very enjoyable stay and we will definitely be returning but we would have to rethink about the room options before we book next time.
