Amazing hotel to stay. Amazing view and staff. Everything was great , would recommend to anyone.

It’s not easy to keep a building looking fresh and beautiful in the tropics next to salt water (I live in Costa Rica; I would know), but they do a fantastic job of keeping the property looking sparkling fresh. And given that it’s also 400+ years old, it’s no small feat. As a former convent, the colonial feel has been maintained while they pay homage in a variety of ways to the Catholicism. They offer an historic tour of the property which is very interesting. We had a standard room which was very nice, but not over-the-top. Comfortable, everything worked properly, and we were able to keep the temps where we like them despite the steamy hot air outside. Bed was very comfy as well. Spacious bathroom. Stocked mini fridge, safe and a bar sink area stocked with a few dishes and utensils rounded it out. The staff bends over backwards to assist you in any way they can. They are extraordinarily well trained. If you ask where to find something, they will accompany you there. Mostly quiet, but occasionally there was street noise made by delivery trucks in the wee hours, and by vendors with loud speakers in the mornings. That was pretty annoying. It’s too bad there aren’t noise ordinances before a certain hour. I’m here during off season, and they just began a construction project near the pool area which is quite noisy, but they kindly don’t begin any work until late morning, fortunately. The restaurant “1619” is divine: don’t miss it. The breakfast buffet, which looks pretty impressive, wasn’t so great. I had a truly gross eggs Benedict (egg whites were runny and sauce was not the best), but the pastries were phenomenal. Really enjoyed our cocktails at El Coro, which came with some tasty tidbits. Overall this place is a must see and stay! I hope to be back someday.

Amazing vibes and tunes! Nestor took great care of us with a few tasty cocktails (try a rum drink) and a crab avocado app that was out of this world. Not to be missed.
