The Mayton

Downtown carey is a quaint cozy location across from park and down from art building. Currently Christmas decorations are being placed inside and outside establishment. Upon a 16-17 of November stay. Room 303 is cozy and authentic feeling of Academy rd. Room has a distinct attic feeling rather than the other exterior rooms that are straight walls.

Quaint location,Beautiful hotel, excellent food and great staff. It was a relaxing stay with a beautiful park and restaurants in walking distance.

Great accomodations, Great location, Great hospitality! You won't find a friendlier, more helpful staff anywhere. We have had our sales meeting here for 3 years in a row and we will continue to come here for years to come.

There was an event going on that blocked all street around hotel. A gentleman called a couple of days earlier and told us to call when we got there and someone would tell us how to get in to park. When we called, the woman at the front desk couldn't help us and suggested we park at some library and walk back with our luggage. Luckily, the police at the baracade saw the handicap placard on my care and let us through to park. If we had known about the event ahead of time, we would have found another hotel. When we finally got to our room, the bathtub was broken. It wouldn't hold water. While the maintenance was prompt, he couldn't fix it and had to call the engineer who replaced the stopper. Both very nice and trying hard to fix it, but all in all, it took over an hour. For the high price of the room, the bathtub shouldn't have been broken. Bottom line, between the unhelpfulness of the front desk and the broken tub, the $450+ for the room wasn't worth it.

My class just had their 20 year reunion at the Inn. The service, food, and accommodations were superb! We stayed in the Trinity Suite and it was luxurious- we had out kids stay with a babysitter and friends stay in the other suite. We had an amazing time. Room service was fabulous and we couldn't have had a better experience. If you are having an event or just getting away it is the perfect retreat!

My wife left Cary as a little girl 56 years ago, and wanted to stop and see her childhood home as we drove home to Arlington VA from Santee SC. We picked the Mayton Inn because it was within walking distance of the places she wanted to revisit (the old drugstore with the 1940s soda fountain; her elementary school; the old house, etc.) We could not have picked a better place to stay, and we've stayed in places all around the world. From the time we entered the front door, the reception staff were going well out of their way to be accomodating, helpful, and pleasant. The same was true of the bartender, the restaurant wait staff, the chefs, and even the owner/manager whom we encountered and had a delightful conversation with. The Mayton only opened in FEB 2016, but it retains a traditional southern charm that is well-appointed and radiates a thoroughly pleasant environment throughout the building. The cuisine was outstanding, the mixology superb, and there were many places to sit, rest, and relax--from the lounge to the library. We went to Cary to visit my wife's old home (which we actually got to enter) as a one-time event, but have decided that we will have to swing by more often on our North-South jaunts just to spend the night in such a pleasant surrounding. Be sure to say "hi" to Josef, the young Zulu-American waiter and Ryan, the barkeep-extraordinaire.
