Staff: Many guests praised the staff for being friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The front desk service was highlighted as exceptional, and staff were willing to create custom vegan dishes upon request, which added a personalized touch to the service.

After checking in and leaving my card info for those “incidentals “ which was only 200 the waited till the day I was checking out to charge my card also they charged me the same amount as my stay took an extra 112 from me understanding it’s just a hold but super inconvenient plus they took more out than what they were supposed to .

My little brother graduated from University of Arizona in May 2025 and so our family returned to Loews Ventana Canyon Resort (after staying for vacation in 2005) to celebrate with him. We had three rooms through the AMEX Fine Hotels and Resorts Program. Overall, I would say we enjoyed our time here and would recommend the resort to other travelers who are seeking a relaxing resort vibe. There are some enhancements management could take to make this a 4.5 star resort. Details below: What's Wired (Highlights) 1. The setting is absolutely iconic and serene. You look out to the sprawling Tucson urban area while looking up to some of the most beautiful mountain landscapes we've seen. The natural elements (plants, trees, flora, fauna, wildlife) make it feel special and secluded. 2. If you're an architecture buff like me, you'll love this place. It gives Frank Lloyd Wright vibes. There are so many areas to explore from the observation tower to the second floor lobby area. 3. The rooms and suites (as well as hallways and other public areas) were recently renovated in 2024 and everything feels fresh and modern (compared to our 2005 stay which was very dated). 4. The AMEX Fine Hotels and Resorts provided a 12PM check-in, breakfast for two ($60-80 every morning I believe which gives you endless options), a $100 property credit, a complimentary upgrade, and guaranteed late checkout 4PM. We enjoyed these perks. We were offered an even better suite upgrade for a nominal upgrade fee per night (I would highly recommend asking!). We also received a welcome amenity of a bottle of red wine and designer chocolates. 5. Suite 4201 with connecting bedroom 4203 was absolutely perfect and charming. It had a spacious living room with pull-out couch, a dining table for six, marble wetbar, and no adjoining walls, so we were able to gather as a family without worrying about bothering other guests. There suite also featured two entrances, two full bathrooms, two balconies with jaw dropping top-floor views of the pool and picturesque mountains -- we spent many mornings and evenings with coffee or dinner just enjoying the vantage point, just WOW. 6. Many of the staff offered genuine hospitality. Specifically, Cooper at the Front Desk made us feel welcomed like family and was more than happy to accommodate my numerous requests and questions. Taylor at Bill's Cafe offered personalized drink and food recommendations and ensured we were well taken care of at the pool. 7. We rented a cabana at the pool to celebrate my brother's graduation and it was great: private, covered living room with couch, fans/cooling machine, and stocked fridge, shaded and reserved lounge chairs, and consistent food and beverage service. The pool generally was crowded so we enjoyed this respite. I highly recommend checking out the pool and hot tub after dark! 8. Self-parking was included with the resort fee and you're able to park near your room for ultimate convenience. 9. We really enjoyed our co

The resort was perfect in every way. Truly a great find. Stayed one night for a special occasion and wished that it was longer. All the staff that we met were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and spacious with all that we needed and included a huge walk-in shower. The balcony had seating for two and an amazing view that included a waterfall in the distance - nice to sit out in the early morning. Breakfast and dinner at the Canyon Cafe was very good. Great food and service. We will definitely return for a longer stay, especially to take advantage of hiking and outdoor activities in the cooler months.

The spa was my favorite. Monika’s massage was so relaxing and services with Emily were exactly what I’ve been looking for. My mom loves this spa and the hotel. She’s had issues with the description of the rooms and what is in the rooms but it was solved this trip. They offer an upgraded room with a sofa…but we learned the rooms don’t have sofas. The “adult” pool outside the spa does not have cocktails but quiet and you can do laps. The pool behind the hotel is nice, lots of seating, nice staff, tasty food and drinks. A nice trail to a waterfall and lots of trail signs about plants and animals. I’d really like 1 measuring stick next to one saguaro cactus to really show the height of these amazing cactus’. Breakfast and coffees were good and dinner in the bar the first night was nice and staff was enjoyable. We even tried the Flying V, and it didn’t disappoint. Got a reservation same day in the morning. Sat on the patio near sunset. The hotel looked so pretty. 3rd & 4th floors have the best views

I booked 4 rooms at Lowes Ventana. I needed to cancel 1 room. I was told in writing through customer support because these were all under one reservation that I had to cancel all the rooms but they gave me a number to call. When I called, the agent said no problem - he could cancel just one room. Turns out he canceled them all. I discovered the issue immediately, when I called back - they would not honor the original rate or original cancellation policy. I even spoke to the supervisor who said she had literally no power to fix this or make it right in any way and then she told me that the agent hadn't refunded me all of the money even though he canceled all the rooms! To reinstate the original rate/cancelation policy prior to the agent error, I was told I had to go through an escalation process and they would "investigate to see what really happened" - even though she acknowledged she could see the mistake (confounded by lack of refund - which she did fix). She could not tell me how long this process would take. We are staying at Ventana for sentimental reasons due to location but I would never book a Lowes property again after this experience. If they don't value the customer upon booking, and correct easily fixable errors on the part of an agent - how will they treat us at the property?

Such a well run, beautiful and comfortable hotel, but also right near the trail head to ventana canyon. We loved the native landscaping and so much wildlife! Bistro had perfect to go breakfast sandwiches, and the bar was comfortable and welcoming. The views from out king bed 4th floor room were beautiful.

Huge disappointment!! We booked this hotel because of the many good recommendations and because we thought that Loews would honor the offers in their advertising. They have not. While we were checking in the agent told us what to expect and handed us a card with all of the things we would receive while we here including bottles of water, for example. We waited a few hours and then called down to the desk several times and messaged them. We didn’t get a response or a returned call. I went down to the front desk twice and there were no attendants and three other people waiting. An agent finally came out and I asked the associate at the bell desk where the manager was and he said in the back. I went to the shop to buy some water and a staffer said the shop was closed. I asked him for water and he told me we would get two bottles every other day of our stay. Our room is very old and there are many coats of paint. I don’t know why this is still called a resort.

While Ventana is a very nice hotel and room rates are reasonble, they tack on a $31 resort fee. This is nothing more than a rip off. We will not stay at Ventana again. There are comparable hotels in Tucson that do not have such a fee. This is just about greed.
