Older hotel...it is showing some wear....but a fantastic stay. Close to everything..restaurant is great. So much to do in the area....walable.

Excellent hotel with plush amenities. Huge rooms and walking distance to everything you want to do in Charleston. Home to one of the country’s best restaurants as well Peninsula Grill.

Excellent experience on a very charming, clean and elegant facility very well set up with historical connections bring you back to the 1800's, Most impressed was the staff treatment, a real example of the warm southern hospitality from the doorman, Manager and room service. Great breakfast, amazing Grits and delicious coconut cake, which you must have! Also the quality of the bed sheets were very impressed. A place for a come back.

Loved the historic charm of this property. It is well maintained. Room was spacious, clean, comfortable. Perfect location with easy access to walk to restaurants and shops. We never got the car out once we arrived because we were so close to all the attractions. If I had one tip to offer, maybe don’t arrive around 4:30/5:00 like we did because the traffic was bad and it’s hard to find a spot to leave the car while checking in.

This is old world charm….bougie before bougie was even a word. The rooms were top notch - huge, luxurious, and perfect! If we didn’t love going out in Charleston so much, we’d have stayed and enjoyed the rooms even more! Book rooms 314 or 315 if you can - you will love them!! We ate several meals at the Penninsula Grill- the coconut cake was out of this world, of course. But the prime rib, the swordfish, the salmon, and alllll the sides were a slice of heaven. The highlight for us? The staff - especially Kory, the bartender. We stayed for 4 days, and we felt like old friends when we left. He is an amazingly kind and thoughtful human - and his Espresso Martinis are the best! If I could give the Planters Inn an 11 out of 10, I would. One thing I know for sure? We will be back!!

Great location in the heart of the Peninsula. The rooms are generous, and inviting and decorated with historic charm. Staff is wonderful offering warm professional courteous assistance for any request. We've been guests at the Inn many times and highly recommend.

Wonderful inn in a perfect location. The staff was warm and welcoming. The room was very nice and clean. We had a garden suite with a courtyard view. The restaurant and bar are great. Kody and KD were so much fun, and the coconut cake was amazing.
