We enjoyed a magical 2-night stay at Lough Eske Castle — a truly stunning place filled with history, beauty, and warmth. The castle grounds, the evening light on the façade, and the peaceful atmosphere made the visit feel incredibly special. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the food was excellent (especially the salmon, steak, and sticky toffee pudding), and the spa offered a wonderfully relaxing experience with an outdoor jacuzzi. The staff were the true highlight. Niamh (Spa) was the sparkling star of the relaxation area — warm, uplifting, and genuinely caring. Gráinne (Reception) shared fantastic local recommendations with real enthusiasm. Dylan (Concierge) brought the castle’s history to life with passion and kindness. Thomas (Bar) greeted us with his joyful “Living the life!” and spread positivity everywhere he went. And the gentleman at reception was extremely friendly and attentive throughout our stay. While every hotel has small areas to fine-tune, the overall experience was exceptional. We left with wonderful memories and would happily return.

The best stay we had in all of Ireland. The staff, rooms, food, spa and grounds are all wonderful. Service was amazing from the time we pulled up until we drove away. One of the concierges, Shea, is a real gem providing unparalleled service. The spa staff are wonderful as were reception and good service employees. My only regret is that we only had to nights here.

I was part of a bus tour with a Celtic band which included a two nights stay as part of our one week visit through Ireland. Where prior arrangements had been made, the band played some Irish music as we drove up to the castle and were greeted “Downtown Abbey style” with the staff greeting us on the front stairs as we drove up and disembarked. I can not do justice to providing a complete description that captures everything from the elegant internal details to the manicured grounds with awe inspiring trees and sculptures. I was not prepared for what I faced as I stepped into my “rooms”. It was a suite, complete with fireplace, sitting area with a couch, a bathroom larger than most bedrooms and so much more. I kept discovering one amenity after another. Our group of over 40 were served scrumptious meals, again, with every detail attended to perfection. Activities are offered including walking/hiking trails, bikes and a spa. This is one tough act to follow!

Spent a lovely morning at lough eske spa and later had afternoon tea in the hotel with my 3 daughters. Would like to thank Johnny in the green room- he took great care of us, was very accommodating and had such kind professional service. The cherry on top for our lovely day.

The castle was grand and magical! The rooms were quite spacious and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, definitely felt like a luxurious experience. The bathrooms very large and lovely with a great towel heater. The robes and slippers were an excellent touch and the spa was wonderful and relaxing without too exorbitant of prices. The bar dinner was lovely, as well as the complimentary breakfast. The photo collection and history in the downstairs bar was very interesting! So many rooms to explore and relax in, we loved having a drink from the bar and playing cards by the fire. The grounds were wonderful and biking around with the complimentary bicycles was a lovely note to end the trip on. Wish we could have stayed multiple nights! The Courtyard Room unfortunately didn't have heat for some reason? The hotel was able to bring in a space heater which helped but seemed strange in Ireland. The Deluxe Room was heated!

Absolutely magical, like something out of a fairytale. Highly recommend getting a room in the original castle if you can - we had the O’Donnell suite which looks right out to the front of the castle and fountain and it was absolutely beautiful inside. However, if you like full quiet and more seclusion, know that this area is above the lobby and bars so a little noise can travel through (didn’t bother us, especially with the ability to close multiple doors in this suite). The grounds are beautiful and you can check out their bikes to ride down to the lake. You’re also very close to Donegal which we enjoyed shopping around. And finally, the food was great - from breakfast to bar food to the fine dining, it all tasted great. Overall, it was a highlight of our trip!

Amazing venue and fabulous food. I stayed in Loch Eske for a wedding. We stayed for 3 nights and it was a great experience. The staff were friendly and the views were amazing. The spa is lovely and the bikes you can use for free are a great benefit.
