The Merrion is a Hallmark of service and sheer quality. We arrived to be greeted by a friendly concierge and the news that our room had been upgraded to a junior suite.
Lunch in the Cellar bar was an absolute joy and friendly, well clued in staff made the experience more special.
The room was fabulous, with every comfort you could imagine. The bed was so comfortable, as were the couches.I cannot speak too highly about the service at this wonderful hotel.

The Merrion was a great place for us to stay in Dublin. Perfectly located, the minute you step through the doors you feel like royalty. The hotel has the largest private art collection in Ireland, and the private guided art tour and high tea afterwards was a highlight. The pastry chef creates desserts that reflect some of the pieces in the collection; they were both delicious and so very clever! Every member of the staff is ready to anticipate your needs before you even know them yourself. Beautiful and comfortable sitting areas where you can relax with a book in front of the fire. The Cellar Bar is a very cool place with delicious food and drink, and Bar 23 is a great place for a pre- or post- dinner libation. If and when we return to Dublin, The Merrion will be our only choice for accommodations.

The Merrion is very centrally located and an easy walk to many of the popular historical and cultural sites, as well as first rate restaurants and pubs. If your room faces the main street with government HQ across the street you will have interesting people watching and good sound proofing. Rooms facing the garden courtyard are quieter, but without the view. Beds are supremely comfortable and the bathrooms well designed and equipped. Every (and I mean every) staff member was genuinely kind, often asking how we were enjoying Ireland and offering good suggestions. Housekeeping staff did a superb job. The breakfasts were extensive and the service (again) excellent, both attentive and efficient. On a rainy afternoon we very much enjoyed a pot of tea in the drawing room. On a sunny day lunch on the terrace was a lovely experience. Supper in the original wine cellar (another rainy night) was first rate.

Staying at the Merrion Hotel is not cheap but worth spending money on. From the moment you arrive to be welcomed by the friendly hall porters helping you with luggage, the receptionists checking you in and all the efficient friendly staff, it is a real treat. The rooms are very quiet, comfortable and well equipped. The various restaurants serve delicious food. I always particularly appreciate the fresh honey comb on the breakfast buffet each morning. Altogether I can truthfully say that the Merrion is my favourite hotel and I hope to return again before too long.

Superb location, wonderful staff and an amazing hotel. Rooms are good size and beds are very comfortable. cellar bar is very cosy with great comfort food.
