Hotel du Vin Edinburgh

We arrived at the hotel a little early, knowing our room wouldn’t be ready, to leave our bags. Having not been for three years due to living abroad. The manager Ben remembers us, by name too. The welcome was like being taken into the arms of your family. The main reason we just wouldn’t stay anywhere else. We booked a deluxe room with breakfast. Nothing disappoints, the rooms have been refreshed and are just stunning. Our room was in the eaves, adding to the character. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The courtyard area is stunning, just to enjoy a glass of something sparkly. We noticed this time, special lunch and dinner menus. The family at the next table’s food looked fantastic. The general feel of the hotel and employees is very special. All of the staff are friendly and very well motivated. Having observed the manager in action. We’d say 90% of this is down to his unique style of leadership. Always on hand chatting to customers and staff alike. The breakfast was bountiful too. A buffet for the cold items, with the main coming from the a la carte menu. Great choices and presentation. Thank you once again for an exemplary experience.

Outstanding luxury hotel in the heart of Edinburgh. Very close to the National Museum of Scotland. The hotel is accessed from a busy street but entrance is set in a quiet courtyard. Well furnished modern rooms with comfortable beds, plenty of electrical outlets and l’Occitane bath products added to the wonderful experience. We enjoyed a 5 course tasting menu at the Bistro preceded by amazing old-fashioned drinks created at the bar and a delicious breakfast the next day. The staff were all friendly. A great 1 night stay for a couple. Can’t wait to go back to the Hotel Du Vin & Bistro!

Celebrated Golden Wedding with friends and family in Burke and Hare Room, after drinks in the cosy Whisky Snug - lovely on a cold Nov evening. Despite a couple of hiccups (guests not aware) we all thoroughly enjoyed the food, ambience and efficiency of the night. Alex and the other staff on the night were all friendly, helpful and professional - excellent!

Hotel Du Vin Edinburgh is a great option to be near central Oldtown as well as walking distance to the University of Edinburgh for parents, friends of incoming students! The property is first rate, our room was lovely, spacious with all the amenities. The hotel staff service was warm and attentive, and their food services were delicious.

We had a wonderful two course meal in the bistro with excellent service from Olivia. We enjoyed the delicious French food in a relaxing atmosphere and we’ll be back I’m sure. Would highly recommend.
