Ótimas instalações e um atendimento muito personalizado. Os quartos muito bonitos e as camas bastante confortáveis. Adorámos o pequeno-almoço e a experiência em geral. Foi pouco tempo mas valeu a pena!

For many, many years, we have been coming to Portugal but apparently not! We have visited the Algarve many times and stayed in Oporto and Lisbon plus the coast in between. However, having found Estremos, Evora and Cuidad Rodrigo on this road trip, we realise these previous places to visit are but the front of the country and here in the east is the real Portugal! Beautiful fruit trees and vineyards abound with Pelicans nesting on telegraph poles. Beautiful towns and historic buildings and emplacements. So, so much to see….. This ancient yet well maintained hotel is in a fort overlooking the beautiful town of Estremos which, like the hotel, is clean and well looked after by its people. The staff are lovely and so professional from check in through refreshments to check out. The room we enjoyed was comfortable but modernised but did not lose its authenticity. The bathroom was in the small size but understandable bearing in mind the place’s age. We so look forward to coming back to enjoy the really tasty local cuisine on offer at the hotel and elsewhere and staying in this remarkable building.

This poussada is stunningly beautiful. Reception was very kind. We had booked a suite, room 122. Very large bed room and separate sitting room with beautiful view. Very nice marble bath room. Decoration very cosy with ample difused lightning. Bed very comfortable. Restaurant outstanding. Very nice food and nice service. Unfortunately there was a large group of people that made a hell of a noise, so much that we asked the staff to intervene. The staff did intervene and the group was a little more quiet. During the entire night we heard strange sounds as if somebody was throwing furniture through the rooms upstairs or downstairs. Impossible to sleep. We thought it could be staff working or a movement of the roof structure. After talking to the staff it appeared that a door of a balcony downstairs had been left open by other clients that contineously moved with the wind. Other than that this poussada merits a detour

We were a group of 8 cycling through the Alentejo region and our bike tour company chose this castle for our stay in Estremoz. We loved it! The building is historic and beautiful. Our room was extremely comfortable with a big king bed. Our bikes were kept in a beautiful outdoor courtyard which our room looked onto and we had drinks out there each day after our ride. The outdoor pool is very attractive but the water was very cool at this time but actually it was good for soaking our tired legs after cycling long distances. We dined at nice restaurants within walking distance and found Estremoz to be a very attractive town. The castle is in a good location for getting around and the staff were very friendly and helpful. And breakfasts were excellent.

As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we asked the receptionist if the assigned room (118) was quiet, because my wife is noise-sensitive. He categorically affirmed that we wouldn't have any problem related with noises, but he was wrong: when we turned the AC off and went to sleep, the room began to resound with a loud sound that lasted all night. Since my wife wasn't able to sleep, she walked down the stairs to discover where this sound came from. At this point, she met the receptionist in charge (different to the previous one) and related what was happening and that she wouldn't stand that situation for 5 more nights. He apologized for the inconvenience and told her that the noise came from the AC machine of the hotel located below the room. So she asked for a room change and next morning we got room 201 (it wasn't so pretty decorated, it had a smelly bathroom and it didn't have enough drawers or shelves for the clothing, but very quiet all in all). Despite of this inconvenience, we had a great time at the pousada: we enjoyed the delicious breakfast, the beauty of the building and the pool (when bad behaved children didn't show up). We are very grateful to Ruben: we appreciate his commitment with guest needs.

This is a beautiful, luxurious hotel inside the castle walls in Estremoz. Lovely accommodations, good food, kind and gracious staff. The pool is very nice, the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are well-appointed. Pousada da Rainha Santa Isabel is the perfect way to experience the best the Alentejo has to offer.
