Mantarays Ningaloo Beach Resort

We booked this accommodation through a travel agent and asked for a Bangalow with a kitchen or kitchenette and upon check in we discovered that what we thought we got was not at all what we actually got! Here is what we actually experienced: 1) The staff did not give us a good briefing nor a good welcome on what was where and how to access and use the resort facilities on site. We did not know about beach towels, daily room cleaning, pool shutting procedures, shuttle bus services 2) We did not have any cooking facilities in the room even through they had cutlery there!! 3) Meals were so expensive at the restaurant 4) No other offers were given as “treats” being a 4.5 stars accommodation facility! 5) The bungalow’s dividers on the balcony between the connected bungalows were not well thought through! We could hear all the the conversations and see people on the next door bungalow. We even left the balcony due to the person next door smoking!! 6) We asked for a 1 hr late check out (so we didn’t have to sit at the airport) and the receptionist told us 2 days before our checkout that the resort was fully booked and housekeeping had told them not to do late check outs! They blamed their housekeeping!! Reality was that the day before we left and the day we left, the resort looked empty! Resturant was not busy and not too many cars in the carpark! Busy? I don’t it!!! 7) The TV channel selection was terrible - A lot of the channels like Foxtel, Disney Plus and other services did not work on our TV. We could not watch any movies and even the free to air channels weren’t even working! Very poor of rhem! For a 4.5 star resort, this was not acceptable and the resort should be ashamed of themselves for advertising this facility as a 4.5 star!

An absolute treat awaits guests here. Our reception was friendly and easy, bar and food service perfect, and out room was a delight - spacious, modern and perfectly clean. When we pay top dollar we expect to have value, and that’s what we got. The resort is very well designed and laid out, with most guest rooms having an ocean or garden view around the large swimming pool. Daily housekeeping replenished the coffee and quality teas, and kept our room clean and tidy. All staff were welcoming, the resort worked seemlessly. It’s located a little out of town, a car is best to get around. Carparking could use a few more shade trees but apart from this, the resort is a rare 5 stars from us Treat yourselves to an oasis in the

Out tour group stayed in the CBD but were bussed out here for breakfast twice while in Exmouth. The breakfast buffet was certainly well presented with tasty food and the venue had a great atmosphere in the indoor / outdoor breakfast area. Could certainly recommend to any visitors to Exmouth.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The room was spacious and the deck looking out to Exmouth Gulf was magnificent and we used it each morning to watch the sunrise and spot humpback whales. The bed was comfortable, shower had great water pressure, and we enjoyed having a bath. The pool is well kept and there is complimentary filtered & sparkling water. Breakfast was well stocked. Sometimes the kitchen was inflexible for example we asked for the fish in the “fish & chips” to be grilled instead of battered & fried but this could not be accommodated. Similarly we asked them to blend the fruits into a smoothie at breakfast given that you could purchase milk shakes but again this could not be accommodated. Not a big deal but we felt these were relatively small requests. The only thing is that the hotel in about 5 kms out of Exmouth so there are no other eating options and the hotel shuttle only runs until 3.30 in the afternoon. Given that we were in Exmouth to do activities on the reef we were never back at the hotel until at least 5.00 so we could never use it. Extending the shuttle until 8.30 at night would be a nice touch. A taxi to town costs between $20-25 each way. And it was way too hot to walk. Next time we would hire a car but it would be awesome if the hotel was unable to extend the shuttle to have (or hire) some bikes to ride into town. All up we would stay here again.
