Maison Cabrière - Boutique Suites

We have stayed at Maison Cabriere in 2019 and 2024 and were impressed with the property. So we booked again and what a surprise: a new owner has taken over and changed the concept very much - to the better. Beautiful decors, a consistent colour concept and new furnishing, windows, doors etc. But most of all: changing from a suite only place to a full service B&B. And when I say full service, I mean it. Starting from the friendly greeting by the manager to now having a full and fantastic breakfast delivered to your room to the fully stocked Minibar ( included) and the even more fully stocked and serviced bar, where you can get drinks, wine and MCC day round for free. Always good and friendly service. Needless to say that the rooms are impeccable and the owner did a great job to furnish it with top class amenities, wine and water in the fridge ( from Babylonstoren!) and lots of space. Are there downsides: yes. A few, like no bycicles and no in- room safe will be addressed in the near future, since reopening only happened in October. I think the seating situation on our terrace (Sorbonne) could be a bit more comfortable. And lastly: as you can imagine the prices have gone up considerably. But still: a really pleasant place, perfectly situated in Franschhoek with a superb staff. Thank you very much again.

The hotel reopened two weeks before we arrived after a big makeover. The decor is elegant and homely, not overly decorated. This hotel doesn’t host many rooms so it is private and quiet however the location is very close to the main dining & shopping Street in the town. My boyfriend and I stayed 2 nights in suite La SORBONNE. The bed is big and we slept well. Breakfast is delivered to our room and we enjoyed breakfast on the spacious balcony. The kitchenette in the room is very well stocked with local drinks and snacks. The room even comes with complimentary sun screen and insect lotion. In addition, the front desk manager Chantelle is amazing and super helpful.

This was our second stay at Maison Cabriere. There is nothing to not love about this place. Exquisite charm, close to everything in Franschhoek and very personable staff. Words cannot express the beauty and comfort this place implores. We have already booked our third stay for February 2027. Every time we come, we can’t wait to come back. We came in early before check-in time, was greeted by the very friendly staff and left our bags to do a full day of wine tram. We had a room with a balcony with a view over the mountains. Super clean room and a pool area to rest at after a long day moving around! Everything was perfect.

Lovely, attentive and welcoming staff. The room was decorated to a high standard, clean and tidy and nice attention to detail. Fab location for discovering the food and wines of Franschhoek. Amazing bed, so comfy! Nice to chill around the pool area on the lovely loungers.

Beautiful place, fantastic staff and perfect location. Maison Cabriere is stunning and I couldn’t fault it. Just off the main high street and with a private pool and manicured gardens, this was the perfect place for us to stay for our two night stay in Franschhoek. Highly recommend
