“Of course you can” is the normal response for any request made at the Stone House. The staff are very friendly and will do anything to assist their guests - many of the current staff have been in situ for many years, and a few generations of their families have worked here also. The ambience has been gently tweaked over time, for the better, but it is not uncommon to share a pre-dinner drink with guests who have visited the hotel two or three times a year for over 10 years, and are all remembered by name. It is not a cheap stay, but you receive excellent value for money.

Visited for the first time for a birthday celebration. The food was amazing and the atmosphere lovely. James and all the staff were fantastic.

Booked this hotel for a meal for my son’s birthday. From the initial email to arriving the staff were wonderful. Especially the bar manager- he had a fun character. The food was excellent and they even decorated the table and organised the best cake for me. The only downside was one of the waitresses was rude and miserable. Appalling service and couldn’t clear the table without dropping the cutlery (twice in fact) training required. She was telling everyone that it was the young girls first night, but she was far better than her! She was rude about the bar manager and pulled faces when he was talking- she just lets the place down unfortunately. We laughed it off but on reflection it was sad as everyone else gave 110%

This is a very special place to stay. The hotel is very nice and comfortable and the setting is world class. Located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the best place to stay in the Dales. A wonderful bar, plenty of comfortable chairs and fire places; a perfect place to curl up on a rainy English day. The food is excellent. The staff was very attentive, friendly and helpful. Great local hikes from the hotel and centrally located to all of the sights of the Yorkshire Dales.

If cosy countryside accommodation is your thing, then you are bound to fall in love with the unique Stonehouse Hotel. The location is ultra peaceful, surrounded by hills, trees, fields & probably sheep. It’s well equipped with all mod cons but has a very traditional feel. The employees are warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. I can’t wait to return!

The Porsche Club took over the whole hotel on a weekend from the South coast. The food was very tasty and the hotel was beautiful, very quaint, beautiful surroundings, rooms were comfortable, absolutely fantastic staff and service, definitely recommend.

Stone House is a beautiful comfortable hotel in a great location near Hawes. Staff is warm and welcoming, and the meals are very good., You can cozy up to the fireplace with a book or take a long walk on the nearby footpaths. A great relaxing experience!
