Great Service, Lovely Breakfast — but Room Noise and In-Room Dining Could Improve
I recently stayed at the Thompson Houston and overall had a great experience, especially thanks to the excellent service. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly, helpful, and professional. Their attention to detail really made me feel welcomed, and I was touched when they surprised me with a graduation cake — a thoughtful gesture I truly appreciated.
The hotel breakfast was a highlight. The food was fresh and well-prepared, and once again, the service stood out. Dining in the morning felt like a treat thanks to the welcoming atmosphere.
That said, there were a few downsides that affected my stay. The room was quite noisy, even late into the night. It was hard to relax or fall asleep with the amount of outside noise coming through.
Also, I ordered in-room dining on two occasions. On the first day, everything was great. However, the next day the fries were noticeably soggier, the salad was just a bowl of greens with six tiny avocado cubes, and — most concerning — the aioli on the side looked like it had already been used.
Overall, Thompson Houston left a positive impression on me, mostly due to its exceptional staff and quality breakfast. I hope they can improve the soundproofing and ensure consistency in their in-room dining service.

This is my fifth or sixth time staying at the Thompson Houston. Hands-down this is one of my favorite hotels. You are treated like royalty from the moment you drive up to valet your car. Everything about the hotel is stunning from the aromas in the air to the Christmas decorations, to the pool to the skyline view and the immaculate panoramic view suite which is my absolute favorite room! When I checked in this past Saturday, Ms. Devon took extra care of me and even ordered a bottle of champagne for my friends birthday celebration. I actually brought Ms. Rumsha a gift. She is the young lady at the front desk who is always so professional and courteous. She always make sure that my reservation is perfect prior to my husband’s and my arrival. As usual breakfast was delicious. I always order the steak and eggs, with my obligatory mimosas for breakfast. Staying at the Thompson hotel is a treat for my husband and me and our families. When we have guests we like to entertain at the Thompson for a night on the town. We can’t wait to go back!

recently visited Thompson Houston and had an exceptional experience thanks to Tony, the concierge. From the moment I arrived, Tony went above and beyond to make sure every detail of my stay was perfect he akcowledged my birthday. He was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the hotel and the city. Whether it was arranging transportation, offering great local recommendations, or simply checking in to ensure everything was going smoothly, Tony’s professionalism and genuine care truly stood out. His level of service elevated my entire stay, and it’s clear he takes great pride in what he does. Thompson Houston is lucky to have him, and I’ll definitely be returning—largely because of the wonderful service Tony provided. Highly recommended!

Very nice property. Rooms and facilities were very comfortable. There is a gym called EOS next door that guests can use in addition to the hotel gym. Valet parking fee is a little pricey at $40. Nice walking trail by Buffalo Bayou right by the hotel.

Fantastic ambiance we will certainly return! Even the basic king room was well outfitted and the high ceiling made the room feel spacious and upgraded. We unfortunately didn't have the time to check out all the amenities but will return soon to do so!
