Mint House Houston - Medical Center

Great location to be near all hospitals. It was clean and very equipped. The only big inconvenience to us was the fact there are no TVs in the rooms. When you have just left the hospital and have to lay down, you want to be in your bed not on a sofa in the living room.

The carpet in the main bedroom needs to be replaced or at the least deep cleaned. Only half the light bulbs worked in main bathroom over sinks. The bedside lamp light bulb was out too. Very difficult for older people to figure how to keys to room and how to use to get around rooms and parking garage. Not enough comfortable places 4 people to set and watch tv. Did not enjoy only streaminng service TV. Very disappointed there were no tv in bedrooms. Only 1 in the whole place.

We have stayed here many times so that I can complete my cancer journey. Always nice. Great amenities. Feels like home away from home.

The only real advantage of staying at Locale Medical Center short-term is its proximity to the MD Anderson Medical Center. There are no on-site staff to assist with check-in, and the process itself is confusing. Guests receive multiple codes via text on the day of arrival—one for the entrance door, another for the kiosk to retrieve a key fob, and yet another for apartment access. Additionally, you must register your vehicle in advance or risk being towed, so it's essential to check your email and follow the instructions carefully. There are extra charges for early check-in and daily parking. Unfortunately, there are no restaurants or grocery stores within walking distance, so driving is necessary. The apartment was not clean upon arrival. Air vents were dusty, the faux wood flooring was worn and peeling, and the furniture looked outdated and in need of replacement. Kitchen appliances, cookware, and utensils appeared old and not well-maintained. The shower curtain liner had mold and soap scum, clearly needing replacement. While the building does offer amenities like a pool, gym, lounge, and coworking space, the atmosphere feels cold and unwelcoming. Given the cost of staying here, there are definitely better accommodations in the area than Locale Medical Center.

We loved our unit except for the peeling cupboards in the kitchen. Feel like this could have been fixed before we arrived. The corner units have great windows and a wonderful view. Really disappointed that the hot tub was not hot. This is our second time staying here and there is always something wrong/not working in the pool area.
