My wife and I stayed at Fort Arabesque from 9th to Sunday 16th of November 2025. We had previously stayed three times at the Coral Sea Sensatori in Sharm but thought we would give Hurghada a try. We had made a late booking of a junior suite which had just become available in the adult only West Bay accommodation. On arrival we were told that we had been given a 2 night upgrade to a Villa with swim up pool. It was Villa 50 with a view over the bay and was really nice. Modern with heated crystal clear pool and very nice inside. Villa guests and suite guests are up graded to Premium all inclusive 16+ rather than just all inclusive. On checking in we were given a single sheet briefly laying out what each category included. Premium can dine at the Club 159 and Pavillion for free rather than having to pay but you have to book ahead. What is not explained, is how the beach area operates. You can book an umbrella and loungers for your stay for free if premium or paying if not. This was never explained to us. Premium plus are also supposed to get premium drinks. We never did and it was never explained to us despite having the purple premium plus wrist bands. After 2 days we were transferred to our original Junior Suite (463) which went smoothly. I did enquire about paying to remain in a villa but the cost was 80 euros a night and we would be in a different villa without a view so we declined. There was also building work going on nearby and a continual hum from air conditioning units. It would appear that the adult only West Bay is the original building. Some aspects are very tired and need upgrading. IT overlooks gardens which are beautifully kept and a pool. There is a restaurant in West Bay which serves the same food as the main restaurant (but a smaller selection) and you can eat in either. The room shower has a drencher shower and hand held shower head and you switch between the two by pressing a button but frequently this didn't latch and you're under the shower holding it in with one hand. The sink plugs are pop up type which frequently don't - you have to resort to using a nail file or scissors to prise it up. The fridge was always well stocked and a big plus was the excellent service of our room attendants, Ahmed and Ali - they really looked after us. One of the highlights is the coral reef in front of the hotel. Superb, very easy to snorkel over, even for children, and there are a wide variety of species including clownfish (not nemo which isn't found in the Red Sea). The sand on the beach is basically builders sand so don't expect fine silicon or white coral sand. We could always find a sunbed by the pool and also booked beds on the beach. One of the biggest disappointments was the food. At times it was inedible. I had chicken curry at West bay but the lumps of chicken came from who knows what part of the bird, all gristle and bone.
