Vilatoro Guest House

We came to vilatoro off off the back of a local recommendation and my God what a recommendation! We have travelled the world and I have never stayed anywhere like this! Incredible home, Incredible people, Incredible location. The best service we left making good friends! Very lucky to have found this place! Despite not speaking portugese we felt at home! Incredible hosting! We can't wait to come back. Just amazing ❤️

This guest house was one of the most beautiful places we’ve stayed anywhere in Brazil. Fernando and Pedro are amazing hosts, and Patricia was a wonderful chef and awesome source of Ilhabela insights. Our room and the views were wonderful and the entire house is spectacular. The proximity to Veloso and Curral beaches was perfect. Couldn’t provide a higher recommendation and hope to visit again asap!

Had such an amazing time at Vilatoro! The guest house is beautiful, spacious and very comfortable. We had an incredible sea view and plenty of privacy, and breakfast was delicious every day (Patricia is the best). Fernando was so helpful, kind and patient (we don’t speak Portuguese ☺️), and gave us great recommendations for activities and food. 10 out of 10, we’ll definitely be recommending to our friends.

We wanted to wait until the end of our stay here, but just a couple of days in we felt compelled to leave a review as it had been such a brilliant stay already. Let’s start with the house - the photos do not do it justice, it is impeccably designed, with beautiful furniture and exquisite taste. It is very stylish and really distinctive. I would much rather stay here than the other high-end place on the island, for instance the Wyndham Hotel. Vilatoro has a much more boutique, unique feel and for us was much more memorable than any other similar 5* hotel. It is also a little bit further out and therefore much quieter and relaxing than being on the main area / near a busy road - which is one of the most charming things about Ilhabela and really what we came for - relaxing surrounded by the beautiful wildlife and stunning views of the ocean. Then the staff/service - Fernando was just the most helpful, thoughtful, kind person you could hope to meet. Genuinely just a few examples include him helping us get a car, arranging a massage, ordering food when we felt like staying in because the house was so nice, cutting fresh beautiful flowers, suggesting nice restuarants and beaches. He even offered to pick us up at the port when we arrived late and there were no taxis. The breakfast and food offering was also really well done - it’s simple, but done excellently - the omelette is sensational, and the afternoon sponge cakes very fluffy and light. Cannot recommend enough - it vastly exceeded our expectations and was the best place we stayed at during our two weeks in Brazil. We can’t wait to visit again. Maybe we’ll also ask for interior design tips!
