The Alexander

The room had a u shaped design so that the entrance was a hall running parallel to the wall so that no one could see in if someone was entering or exiting. The sleeping area was in the far side of the U from the entrance with the work area in the bend. This allowed one person to work while the other slept or watched TV without interfering with each other. I took some pics to show.

Best restaurant service provided by Miguel! He was so accommodating and helpful. We also had great morning mimosas with our breakfast.

I travel to Indy frequently for work and I’ve recently started staying at The Alexander. After this last trip, I want to make The Alexander my staple; while the hotel is adorable and funky (check out the art installations in the lobby—you’ll feel like you’re in a high-end gallery), and the food and drinks are delicious (the cocktail artists at Plat 99 are one-of-a-kind), the reason I’ll keep coming back is the front desk service. The true heroes of my last stay were Hannah and Taleya, who helped me navigate a stressful self-park/valet situation during a super busy night. Coming from a city that doesn’t have professional sports teams, I didn’t realize the hype (and the traffic it brings to ALL parts of downtown) when the Pacers play at home. I was worried I would be double charged, since I had paid for valet during my stay, but ended up having to self-park in the garage due to traffic on my last night. Clearly sensing I was an anxious girlie, Taleya and Hannah were so incredibly kind, friendly, and accommodating and were able to help me figure out a solution where I wouldn’t be double charged, and even ended up paying a slight bit less than I would have originally. Even though it seems like such a small thing and the charges would have amounted to less than $100, the fact that they were empathetic, understood I was worried about explaining the double charge to my company, and wanted to ensure I felt like I didn’t simply have to accept the unexpected circumstances of staying this close to the arena on a game night was a core memory for me when it comes to hotel staff going the extra mile; so impactful that it prompted me to write a whole review. Not like I needed any more proof that women ensure everyone around them feels heard, validated, and treated fairly, but these ladies truly exemplified that tonight, and that’s the reason I’m going to keep booking at The Alexander. May their pillows always be cold, may they always hit green lights in their daily commutes, and may they always receive birthday discounts at their favorite stores. Don’t even know who the Pacers are with these MVPs.
