We read the reviews from previous guests and were a little dubious about how good they were - there was no need to doubt them. The staff were as attentive and helpful as in any hotel we have stayed in; when I took an empty glass back to the poolside bar I was told that I should let them do that next time, as I was on holiday! It really did feel as though all of the team believed that i.e. we were on holiday, and should be looked after accordingly. Well done to everyone at the Excelsior Belvedere, fantastic hotel and excellent staff. The pool area was lovely - so great to see a 'no reserving the sunbeds' rule being observed! The dining room is gorgeous (breakfasts are fantastic), the lounge/bar area very relaxing (with a pianist every evening), and the room was lovely. My only complaint? Those darn mosquitos, they did like to bite in the evenings but thanks to the reception team who gave us a plug-in mosquito repellent for the room.

My wife and I came here on our honeymoon and it was one of the best hospitality experiences we’ve ever had. The Excelsior is on par with some of the best boutique hotels in the world. The breakfast is curated in such a way to feel like you’re royalty. Lunch in a beach chair feels like you’re staying in a private wealthy individual’s house. Dinner required pants and the host greeted us in a tux. My wife and I were overwhelmed with gratitude. This is a must stay hotel for anyone who appreciates fine hospitality.

Another amazing visit to the only hotel we would ever stay at on Ischia. Location is perfect, in a quiet part of the area with amazing restaurants either side whether towards Argonese castle or down to the port. But, it is the staff that shine in this hotel. Everyone of them are ambassadors to the ethos of the hotel. We have visited for 3 separate weeks now over 5 or 6 years, and cannot rate it high enough. All the areas of the hotel are immaculate, the housekeeping team work tirelessly to keep it pristine. The pool areas and the private beach are oasis of tranquility. Great cocktails from all the team but Enzo does some great ones ! Doesn’t hesitate. Just book and enjoy and then be drawn back to it again and again.

Absolutely incredible. The hotel itself was magnificant, particularly with respect to the grounds and ocean front access. However, what is most memorable was the staff... everyone from the front desk to the wait staff in the hotel was so friendly and helpful. THe food at the restaurant was excellent

Such an amazingly, beautiful hotel with a more amazing staff. The atmosphere is exquisite. The rooms are beautifully appointed, spacious and immaculate. There are four pools and a private beach club all of which we enjoyed, especially the thermal pool at the end of a long day. The front desk was extremely helpful in planning activities for us, including a trip to the Mazzelli Vineyard, the Poseidon thermal baths, a land tour and a gelato class, which had never been requested before. Breakfast was a combination of an ample, fresh buffet and à la carte offerings. Everything was delicious! I would like to mention staff by name, but everybody was so kind and welcoming that I would not want to exclude anyone. We enjoyed our stay there so much that we already booked our week for next year! That should say it all.

This is probably the best hotel/resort we've ever stayed at, and we've traveled extensively. The staff is absolutely the best, the grounds are spotless, the room was perfect. It's a mix of elegance and charm everywhere you look. It could be stuffy but it definitely was not. Everything from check in to our transportation back to the ferry on our last day was top notch. I can't wait to go back. Thank you, Excelsior Belvedere!

we recently returned from a 4 night stay at the Excelsior Belvedere, a hotel on our bucket list for a very long time. It exceeded our expectations. The hotel was a villa built by a Scottsman, so it had character. The gardens were lovely, the food was great and the service could not have been better. The small beach was never crowded, and sitting was not an issue. It is a private beach so no hassles with peddlers. On our last trip to Italy they did not leave us alone for a minute. After booking we needed to make a change and they made it easy. Book early, very early if you want a sea view. We did not have one but we had a nice view so we didn't care. To top it off it was our anniversary, and they made us a cake that was delicious and gorgeous. All without asking! It was a dream. Thank you so much Excelsior Belvedere.
