Surjios Guest House

We had a great stay at Surjio's. A classic, old-school, shared-space guesthouse. Whether for breakfast, dinner, a swim or a sleep, it's almost commune-like in that you're all together. We loved hearing the kids practice their piano and singing; we enjoyed being with them as they did their homework; we were delighted to engage with people from all over the world; and we didn't worry about the sound of our snoring even though others could hear it. lol. A welcoming place. The pizzas are decent in terms of Ugandan pies. And the manager, Tony, makes stunning Indian food from his Punjabi roots. Engage him early in the day for an amazing dinner, off-menu. Similarly, while the drink menu is basic, they are more than eager to do a quick shopping-dash for other items. Other notes: Excellent WiFi. GPS will lead you on a chase. Don't count on it. Absolutely no room service. Backup power only supports overhead lights (not sockets). Housekeeping and drinking water only on request.

Amazing. Great value. Atmosphere was great. Staff was very nice and helpful. Food was excellent and the pizza is AMAZING. We will definitely be back. The view of Lake Victoria is stunning from the upper deck area. Clean rooms. Quiet area, Jinja is a nice town.

We stayed 2 nights in this nice guest house. The owners are very nice and helpful. Our room had a view in the Nile - which was of course great. Well located to visit Jinja and then return the a quiet and safe place. And on to of that: probably the best pizza in Uganda!

A world away from the bustle of Jinja town but just down the road. Beautiful setting. Staff couldn't be more helpful, neither could the owner (Surj). Unfortunately we only stayed one night. Take the time to chat to Surj - a fascinating individual.

Surjio's is a relaxing, friendly, and peaceful place to stay!! The beds are very comfortable, and our rooms had everything we needed. We had every breakfast and dinner here and the menu is versatile and delicious!!! The owner and staff are very conscientious and friendly!! I would definitely stay here again!!

What a wonderful oasis when visiting busy Jinga. Located near Lake Victoria the quiet location was very restorative. The owners and staff were very attentive to details making the time there relaxing. We are foodies and loved the food. The pizza was delicious but some of the off the menu items were exceptional. The butter chicken was one of the best we’ve had and the Ethiopian doro wat was great. For birders, this is a great location and we added quite a number to our life list. A well done to Surjios and many thanks! We hope to return ♥️
