Lyrath Estate

We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and had a friendly enough welcome from reception staff. Hotel itself is beautiful, very picturesque, modern and well maintained. Our room was also fantastic with a lovely balcony and scenic views. We ate in the grill on Saturday night and food was nice and service ok. Breakfast on Sunday morning wasn't fantastic. All of the hot food at the buffet ran out at the same time and a large queue of hungry guests quickly formed. We were unable to use the spa as it was fully booked by a wedding party- an oversight on our behalf however I do believe charging residents to use these facilities is a bit much. We have stayed in other hotels with much larger extensive spa facilities who do not charge an additional fee and quite frankly provide a fantastic experience. We chose to eat in town on Sunday evening as there wasn't much atmosphere in the hotel. The icing on the cake however, was the fire alarm going off at 5am on Monday morning. Myself and my husband got dressed and traipsed down to the lobby to be advised by staff that it was a false alarm and to return to our rooms- no apology or explanation given. Why could staff not be sent to each floor to redirect guests before coming down stairs? Worse again was that on checkout there was no apology given either. Staff had very blasé attitude and offered a weak excuse about steam from a shower setting off alarms. Quite frankly this was very poor from a five star hotel. Breakfast on Monday morning was nothing exceptional either and we had to ask staff a number of times for hot drinks. Myself and my husband are full time carers to our disabled child and really value our time away to relax and reset, unfortunately we left lyrath feeling underwhelmed and disappointed and will not be returning any time soon. My husband was contacted for a review of his stay and replied via email but we are yet to be contacted again to follow up. If I were to be asked, I would not be recommending Lyrath.

We all enjoyed our stay at Lyrath immensely! The staff were so friendly; we particularly took to Ayanda who is a great front of house person to have. We loved the relaxed atmosphere in the Hotel and the fact that they really care about the swallows and House Martins that regularly nest under the eaves. They also have honey from their own bee hives in the breakfast room! Rooms are spacious, immaculate and comfortable. Lovely added touch was the surprise chocolates in the room of one family member whose special Birthday we were celebrating.

The Hotel & staff are exceptional. The rooms are very comfortable, the beds & bedding are first class, restaurant was amazing, great choice, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free. Spa was great too. Would certainly recommend Lyrath ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

For the last decade, this has been our go-to spot. I’ve visited multiple times a year, first with my partner and now with her as my wife, and the experience is simply unmatched. We keep coming back because we know, without a doubt, that we are going to have a great time. The consistency, the atmosphere, and the quality have held up beautifully over the last 10 years. If you are looking for a place that never disappoints, this is it.
